Grunt was great in the Citadel DLC for ME3. I loved the image of him as a hell-raising teenager, which was much better than the "perfect krogan" from 2.

sadly i never got around to playing Citadel. one of these days.

He has so many great scenes, and is proof that they could pull off a great character even without 1-2 games of back-story to back them up.
Then there's James.

The new economy is definitely a lot more interesting and requires much more active engagement and choice-making than before. It's especially hard to make ends meet early, as new colonies are slower to get up to speed and you can't really take advantage of specialization yet because your homeworld is your entire developed economy.
How are your games going?

This was a dumb concept from the beginning: a live-action Sonic movie would be much harder to pull off than even a live-action Mario movie. So they're trying to do it anyway, because that's smart! Very smart!
I think the ceiling for this IS basically Super Mario Bros. : a bizarre fever-dream that is vaguely interesting due to how deeply weird it is, but also unambiguously bad.

Yes, it is both surprising and disappointing that that is the case. I'm glad AOC is putting her star power to use to highlight this shameful contradiction. She also called out the fact that a lot of the orientation stuff is literally run by corporations like Goldman Sachs.

That's a depressing image.

Even $15/hr. is low for her district and D.C. , but it's a great starting point. We need to make it more possible for average people to get and keep this sort of job(the average person can't sustain themselves without a wage).

Let me lay some Digital Devil Saga on this topic.



Steel Coffin, Movements 1&2. Excellent tracks, from one of my favorite segments in any game I've played.
You fill an abandoned cruise ship with explosives, lure the enemy tribe inside, set the timer, and then book it while Argilla entertains Bat to keep it convincing, all while what's happening slowly dawns on the enemy.

SMT games tend to be a bit difficult. If you're experienced with JRPGs, you won't have too much trouble, but every SMT game tends to have an early-boss that's a roadblockMatador in SMT3:Nocturne, Minotaur/Medusa in SMT4.
SMT IV is a fine introduction to how the main-line games work. If you like that, you'll probably like Nocturne(you'll miss some QOL features though) and SMT IV: Apocalypse. Digital Devil Saga is great, but a slightly different beast. Can't comment on Persona, personally.

The AI is busted in the new patch. Doesn't use the new systems well or at all. As per usual with PDX games, gotta wait for a fix patch after the new big patch.

I mean, do any of us have a good command of this stuff? And would you want them to hold it back until January just to tune the AI up a little?

So, what's everyone looking forward to? I'm pretty psyched for what seems to be a much more interesting and robust pop-management system. It should make playing, say, a United Federation of Planets-style civ and a monstrous slaving empire feel much more different than it currently does. Plus, you can be a crime lord. You can even be a religious crime lord!(totally making a Scientology-esque civ, myself).

When your pitch is "I'm the most qualified candidate", that suggests you don't have a vision for a better America. Or, if you do, it's pretty much America as it is now ruled by you.

Liberals always try to drive a wedge between economic and social issues on this issue, precisely because they have no intention of addressing the former.
It is; however, fair to criticize Sen. Sanders for neglecting the latter(particularly racial issues), particularly early on in his primary campaign. He did and has continued to improve on the matter, which is more than can be said about Sen. Corey "I'm not about to sit here and indict private equity," Booker on economics, at least.

They did some really great work with Apollo. Plus, facing down Phoenix in that civil trial was pretty great.

What of welfare(currently Temporary Assistance to Needy Families a.k.a. TANF)? It got decimated from its previous form(Aid to Families with Dependent Children a.k.a. AFDC) because Republicans demonized welfare recipients and lucked into an opportunistic Democratic president.
Another good example is Medicare vs. Medicaid. The former is basically a sacred cow second only to Social Security, but the latter is state-administered and basically non-existent(by design) in many places. I think there's plenty of evidence that means-tested programs are more vulnerable to political attacks and thus cuts to funding and therefore tend to be less effective.

This isn't even remotely close to true.

It's partly true: they mostly build and develop new weapons systems, aircraft, etc. and, as a general rule, are not held accountable for cost overruns and the like. Plus, they manipulate their supply chains in such a way as to make outright killing a given project politically painful rather than focusing on efficiency. It works so well Congress orders up tanks and other stuff the military doesn't even want(and they want a lot of stuff).

I would say Trump saying this is a case of a stopped clock being right twice a day, but that would imply Trump is consistent. Regardless, he is correct that our military spending is out of control.

Yeah, I'm just curious at what point in the game one of the people in charge of this decision started phoning around about it. It was pretty late in the 3rd before it looked like they were going to lose and they almost went to overtime. Granted, they shouldn't be losing to the Cardinals, but I'm wondering if they would have fired him if he had barely won instead.

If he won they would not have fired him. But this loss was the last straw. He was likely going to be fired on Black Monday but this was such a bad loss they did not wait.

I think this will work out great, because they can already get going on their coaching search, and McCarthy and his staff can get to work on their job hunts.

A few years overdue, but better late than never, I suppose. I know that team has problems, but it's way too talented to lose to the Cardinals under any circumstances, let alone at home.
I could see a defensive-minded coach working out there. Patch up the skill positions and stop putting the weight of the world on Rodgers 100% of the time, and the offense will be great. But the defense needs help.

It's a great way to attack Trump without calling out a specific policy.
Useful when you need to be seen to oppose Trump for various reasons but don't actually have much problem with his policies.

I don't see how that follows. The PSC literally believes in working with Republicans in the House: anything with bi-partisan support would necessarily be more conservative than something hashed out by the Democratic majority.
