Hmm, I know Perfect Balance can sometimes desync your first two GCDs like that, but the resources I've seen like The Balance just advise a double Dragon Kick to keep things sync'd. It's an incredibly negligent potency loss to do it.

I know in the past there were times when we had enough skill speed to do two combos before refreshing Twin Snakes, which would throw the whole thing out of whack. But current Monk doesn't do that I'm pretty sure.

Funnily enough, I actually mess up Dragoon positionals more often than Monk. I think it's just because I get into the very consistent rhythm with Monk of Side Side X, Rear Rear X, Side Side X, Rear Rear X, etc. Compared to Dragoon where you kind of don't worry about it until every fourth button press, and then they're opposites, but also Chaos Thrust sometimes, and whatnot. It's easy enough if I'm actively thinking about it, but harder for me to muscle memory.

I'm excited to try out Reaper, but I have a feeling their positionals will be more like Dragoon, since it seems like you rarely use it until you're in burst mode.

I've mained MNK since I started, and the mini-rework they gave via making Greased Lightning a trait has made my experience so enjoyable.
I actually did prefer the old Tornado Kick rotation and greased lightning upkeep. Our current PB rotation is so boring. But obviously that's going to change pretty drastically with Endwalker.

I usually also don't like fist weapons in most games. Not sure why I don't mind it as much here. Maybe because my standard heavy weapons are relegated to tanks.

What do you guys think about Monk? I genuinely think it's one of, if not the easiest class to play in the game, but I know a lot of people bounce off positionals really hard. Once you get that muscle memory in though, it's soooooooo simple.

Though disclaimer: I am the type of player though that prefers static/rigid rotations to priority or proc-based. I hate looking at my hotbar all the time, which is why I prefer stuff like MCH over BRD or DNC.

There's an Glamour Plate system! If you go to the inn, which for example one is in the Quicksand Adventurers Guild, you can enter into an instanced little zone with the Glamour Chest in it. You can store items you want specifically for glamour there, and create Plates which are basically full sets of Glamour that can be applied for zero cost in any town.

So if you don't like the way you look when you get random pieces of leveling gear, you can just create a good looking plate for your class and reapply it any time you go back to town.

If that explanation doesn't make a lot of sense, it's not too hard to figure out if you just go to the inn and play around with it a little bit.

Still really enjoying the experience so far. Hopefully social aspects improve later on when I play with my friends a bit more. Opportunity to even do that is extremely limited, questing with my friend right now is actually very awkward to the point that it's not worth doing, which kinda sucks.

I think the "single player RPG" aspect of FFXIV allows more socially awkward people to get involved and make progress, so I think it's an overall benefit. Social activities definitely pick up quite a lot once you get to more current content. Remember that doing some things like daily Roulettes has worthwhile rewards for everyone involved, so you can always invite friends to do those things. You can also look up rewards for stuff like PVP glamours or mount/glamour Hunt rewards and see if your friends want to do any of those. I have some "glamour is the true end game" type friends who will run PVP frontline with me daily just to get the PVP only currency. If you've played around yet with Mining or Botany, you can get timeworn Maps that are meant to be run with small parties. Those usually have a chance to drop rare materials that are worth a decent little chunk of gil, so it can be fun to have your group of friends all try and get a map or two and run maps together at the end of a week. Ooh, also Golden Saucer can be fun as well to just hang around and do Gates every once in a while!

Sorry if that was too much, but yeah, there's definitely a lot of social stuff you can get involved in, and that's not even getting into the bigger content modes like raids or expeditions.
