I'll jump in to remind everyone that primaries themselves are often a sham and that the party system is a corrupt joke at this juncture.

Bernie Sanders continues to get my support as a person because he is one of the few people I've seen talk who realizes this isn't about him. He's too old to really change America in his lifetime, he is just planting the seed for it.

I am hopeful that a time will come in my lifetime when we've abandoned the two party system for the toxic, horrific structure that it is.

Doctor Doom watched as his nearly flame-broiled Pokemon glared what he estimated was a preemptive to literal daggers into Giovanni's Houndoom. If Doom was capable of being bothered by disfigurement he may have been mildly concerned for the creature under his command, but as it was he gazed at the cracked skin and charred blood covering Logan's body with dispassion. There was no need to be emotional just because of some minor wounds, after all.

Giovanni, on the other hand, was a bit confused about the fact that a Beedrill just stepped through flames and looked to be roasted all the way through and yet, despite that, looked ready to continue fighting against his powerful Pokemon. There was something beneath the surface with the way this Doom figure raised his Pokemon. He didn't know if it was loyalty, blood lust, or fear that drove them to such crazy heights but he knew with certainty that this was the only Beedrill in the world that could have possibly survived an empowered Houndoom's fire for such a length of time.

Houndoom, intimidated although it may have been, refused to cede any further ground to the blackened Beedrill and let loose several balls of fire before summoning forth a jet of fire out of its mouth and throwing it all around the room. The dog Pokemon grew frustrated when its opponent dodged them all without even a lick of fire touching it. It was about to let loose a powerful Fire Blast attack when it was stopped dead in its tracks.

More precisely, one of Logan's blades was not sticking out of the back of its skull, straight through an eye socket. The Bug Pokemon had made a bee line straight for the dark-type as had inhaled for the massive attack and before it could be completed its flesh had been pierced with ease by the incredibly sharp metal. It did not even have time to make a noise before its life was snuffed out. Logan, not satisfied with the trickle of blood that was seeping from its dead opponent's skull jerked its blade to the left causing half of the skull of the doomed Pokemon to practically explode as bits of brain matter, bone, and other fleshy parts that conventional wisdom would suggest should stay housed within the skull.
As the corpse of the dog fell Doom didn't appear to care much for conventional wisdom as his dark laughter could be heard filling the gym at the bloodbath before him.

Giovanni had the good sense to remain perfectly stoic as the blood of his Houndoom poured onto the cold flood of the gym. He had learned long ago not to feed into the mind games of trainers that opposed him. Let Doom have his laughter for now, this fight was just beginning.

“Silence will not help matters in the end, petty man,” Doom offered.

That may have caused Giovanni to flinch, if only just.

Cubs offense is a virtual murderer's row some nights. I am pretty sure for the next 4 years the segment of Bryant/Rizzo/Happ/Schwaber/Baez is going to terrorize pitching. The Cubs could legitimately have 5 30+ home run threats.

Doctor Doom looked on as the newly empowered Houndoom and his own minion, Logan, eyed each other. To the casual observer this might look like nothing was happening, but of course Doom was not a casual observer to anything in his life. He could see the gears turning inside the Houndoom's head as Logan's muscles tensed, his sharp blades glistening even in the relative dark of this drab gym. One mistake by either Pokemon would have grave consequences, and both were intelligent enough to know it. Beedrills were not known for their intelligence, but the magic of science had done wonders for this particular bug brained Pokemon.

The air shifted and suddenly Houndoom lurched forward and let out an array of fire attacks towards Logan, as well as to his most likely escape routes from the original blast. Logan did not feel like putting his entire body to work in this particular instance however and instead of performing a highly complex dodging scheme simply swiped one of his adamantium blades downwards. The resulting burst of wind vanished the fire hurdling towards him in an instant. To complete the maneuver the Beedrill tilted its head towards the Houndoom, as if asking if that was all the fire-type had to offer.

Doom made a mental note to chastise his Pokemon later, should it survive this match, for such a cliched use of theatrics. He wondered where his Pokemon could have possibly gotten its flair for the dramatic from.

Logan didn't waste too much time though, diving right towards the giant dog with its blades bared and ready to slice it into pieces. Before he could reach it though a wall of flame sprouted in front of the Houndoom just in front of Logan and obscuring his vision. Before it could readjust itself from having to stop its momentum to avoid being burned to a crisp the dark canine leaped from the fire with its mouth open and suddenly it had clamped down on one of Beedrill's arms causing blood to gush from the wound as it violently jerked its head and threw around the strong dual-type as if it was nothing. Logan desperately tried to stab at the head of the beast but it would constantly dodge out of the way, whipping the Beedrill's body as it did so before it released its hold and sent the bug type right into the fire to become charred and ruined.

Doom narrowed his eyes as Logan disappeared into the raging inferno. His fists clenched as Giovanni's laughter filled the room.

Giovanni's eyes were filled with mirth as he began to speak. “No matter how well trained a bug may be, a bug is still a bug. It was foolish of you to use such a weak species of Pokemon in such a high level battle. You should have known better, Doom. I will not unravel from brute force alone. Team Rocket will thrive for many years after the corpses of your misbegotten science experiments have had their ashes scattered to the four corners of the earth!”

Just as Giovanni's arrogance was reaching a fevered pitch a burst of wind shot out from the wall of flames occupying much of the center of the room, snuffing it out instantly to reveal a very charred looking Beedrill whose eyes were firmly fixated on the Houndoom in front of him. He brought one of his blades up to his still bleeding arm and allowed the metal to press against his bare flesh, causing a sizzling sound and filling the room further with the smell of burned flesh. The entire time its eyes did not leave the Houndoom.

In an action that was almost impossible to catch, the Houndoom backed up half a step at the sight of the blackened bug looking at it with nothing but ill intentions of malice murder.

Doom folded his arms. A bit late for that bit of wisdom, was it not, silly mutt? Doom thought to himself.
