I dunno why anyone would be mad about it but usually a spinoff has pretty fundamental differences from the original, especially in terms of plot and characters, and usually doesn't end up being relevent to the future entries in main series.

It's honestly a stretch to even call them side stories.

Mom (making Chicken Parmesan): what kind of cheese do you put on it?
Sister: Mozzeralla, I think.
Me: What? No, it's parmesan.
Sister: But I think they do Mozzeralla too.

*later*

Mom: This tastes a little odd.
Sister: I think it's good.
Me: (frustrated) Yeah, it's good.

I mean it wasn't a lie. It did taste good.

So I start making a cup of coffee and find that that was the last pack of that kind in the box. So I toss the box and reach into the cabinet to grab a new one. Open the box, put it on the counter, take a few steps away from the machine, and bam what do I have in my hand? An opened package of coffee.

So I had to drink the first cup really fast and brew another and frankly I didn't want two cups of coffee but the stupid prehistoric sea monsters in my brain made me do it.

The the (ATM machine)

Interesting observation. I think because TTS is the (sub)title and also because it's abbreviated, it's appropriate in this context, using the title as a single adjective, to add "the".

Look at it this way:

If I were to say "I really like the red one" you would use "the" because it's grammatically correct. In the same way, you could swap in most titles while retaining the "the": "I really like the Back the the Future Delorean."

You would probably omit the second "the" if you were speaking the unabbreviated subtitle, by shortening the subtitle: "I really like the Twin Snakes version of the story." But since it's abbreviated as TTS, and this is the commonly accepted abbreviation, what you have if you did just one "the" is "I really like The Twin Snakes version. Which, if you swapped it out for another adjective is obviously wrong.

Just depends. Here are some of my experiences:

1. At my first job, I was working salary but stiff expected to keep regular bysiness hours. So I worked 45 hours a week because I didn't have anything else to do during lunch. Got a new manager who told me 45 wasn't good enough. No thank you sir, I will not exchange time with Mrs. DevsBro for lining your pockets without compensation. Of course I said "sir yes sir" but I found a new job ASAP. I definitely made the right call.

2. Second job I left mostly because I was faced with a problem I found I couldn't solve. I was supposed to find a memory leak in the softeare and after several weeks of reviewing the code over and over it started driving me crazy that I just couldn't beat this stupid problem. Especially since my boss was expecting reaults and starting to get irritated at the timeframe. Also partially because of asshole clients. I dunno if I really made the right call on that one tbh but it did land me in a much better job in pretty much every way.

3. Current company I can pretty much never leave until retirement age. The benefits are too good. So I've had some rough times... especially lately... but it'll take a while lot to get me to quit.

Super speed is probablu the most overpowered reasonable superpower (reality warping isn't reasonable tbh) but frankly I'm never going to fight monsters or anything so I'll.just go with the commute eliminator superpower.

Nah.

MGS2 was never going to happen when they made MGS1, so in its own canon, it happened.

And the events of MGS1 really happened in the canon of 2 also. It's just unclear whether the version of the story given in 1 is the one that's actually canon to 2, or whether the one in that in-game book is, or whether they're both wrong. It's unclear which was the simulation Raiden did, if either. Hell, maybe it was even the TTS version.

There are a lot of things I hate about Phantasy Star II one of the ones I hate most is the way that you can clone (revive) a specific party member as many times as you want until the death is plot-driven, at which point all the sudden the cloning process doesn't work because of the character's biology.

I do, yes. Two years' experience is about comparable to a master's.

But the question is how you get that experience. I lucked out and got found by a company that decided it would be a hoot to hire some greenhorns and see how that worked out becase hey what's the risk when you barely have to pay them?

I guess in the end we reinforced the lack of faith in bachelor's since only one of the five of us ended up staying more than a year and a few months. I guess that's the risk when you barely pay your noobs. Though I actually quit because I got a new manager who demanded more hours for same pay.

Like I said, though, I lucked out. My classmates mostly went begrudgingly to grad school when they couldn't get hired.
