Ah, the fact that I saw long-haired Mio in a screenshot made it click once I saw M again.

Didn't have much time to play yesterday. Only on the second day of my prison sentence.

It's really a chilling portrait when you realize that Agnus isn't all that interested in killing the Lost Numbers, mostly because it doesn't get them anything. So instead they figure they can have a prison population to use as a slave labor force.

Oh lol I noticed the Lone Vanguard's outfit. The gray t-shirt underneath has a navel divot and is stretched over the booba, on all characters regardless of gender.

Wow, even some of these low level Soul Hacks look not bad. Hmm.

I really appreciate that Triton's design evokes the pirate captain he's meant to be. He's got the design of a cravat and a ruffed collar around his neck. His helmet has curved horned elements such that from the front it looks like an officer's hat. And of course the cape.

This has worked its way into my rotation of "focus and get work done" VGM. >.>

Honestly I think this track did for me what You Will Know Our Names did for me in XC1. Which is funny considering that this game also has a version of You Wil Know but it falls comparatively flat for me. I dunno I'm weird.

Oh yeah. Soulhacker's a funky class. I saw that on the list that it was all B's and I'm like "oh this is a gimmicky one".

Shame that you HAVE to be using Soulhacker at the time to get the art out of them. You can't even get the Art/Skill while just toting Triton around, so yeah, he seems pretty useless all told.

Still the weapon on the class is super cool. Anchors for fists!

Yeah that's pretty good actually. I hadn't factored in the whole Consul thing in that. Which makes sense given the propensity for deception the Consul employed.

So it seems that Colony Mu's deal (via the side quests) is that they're dogshit at organization and logistics, whereas every other colony managed it in their own fashion, usual via systemic enforcement and chain of command.

That said, I'd be willing to believe "they're all just a very young colony compared to the ones where there are older people".

Aw lame. Screw that while on the Boundary you still have the same map reveal radius. Gonna be looking at a map of curvy lines instead of the whole thing. Who the heck's got it in them to chart the entirety of the Erythian Sea?

Oh absolutely. Well that just underlines that it's not about the war and who wins. It's about using Keves and Agnus as cattle and harvesting them. The goal is to reach a point of peak harvest or die trying, and you die anyway once you reach it.

I kinda figured this out as soon as I learned there were Moebius consuls on each side. I'm like "oh this is just a manufactured war and the whole point is just the killing".

Also killing a Colony the moment it becomes better than all the rest of the colonies ensures that the war continues with no one really getting an advantage.

And it seems to be powering Moebius members to possibly live longer? I'm sure there's something else.

The whole project feels like it was hijacked from its founders (the "real queens").

But I'm just leaving Swordmarch now so we'll see. Kinda wild to note that Cadensia is "the last area" on the ring of land that makes Aionios. I figured there would be a couple more at least.

I feel that's a good reward for them. Main story is the immediate threat. Side stories reveal stuff about the world you don't need to know, necessarily.

But damn, did Colony 5 get wiiiped.

Someone said earlier in the topic that the whole Nopon thing is weird in this game, but I think there might be something more to it, even if it's not explicitly stated.

In Clubhouse Games on the Switch there's a koi-koi game that gives you assistance and tells you "you should probably take this card".

But yeah, scoring hands in that game seem pretty arbitrary and the only way to really succeed is to learn by failing or having a guide constantly on hand.

The first realization is that the Sake Cup card is a really good card to have, since paired with either the Full Moon or the Sakura Curtain, you can get an easy 5 points to win the hand.

I've certainly noticed that everyone in the City is a Homs-race human (or a Nopon). Which is odd considering one of the Founders was a Gormotti-race like Mio.

Only the first two. After that they started getting some decent names for their main themes so they featured those in the opening and credits.

Unfortunately the West weren't getting those themes for a long time. Only starting in Judgment.

Oh yeah. By far the highest body count of named characters in the series. Don't forget they were trying to feel out the tone with the first game and overcommitted on the tragic grit common to yakuza films.

That is literally referencing an event that takes place in another Like a Dragon game.

If you're going to tell me the Like a Dragon series isn't about the spirit of giving and the joy of family, then I'm going to have to ask you to step outside.

Most of them.

0, 1, 2, 5, 6, Judgment, Lost Judgment

3 takes place over a couple of years but is mostly in Spring. 4 is in March. 7 is in Feburary-ish.

My favorite was just watching stoic and analytical Taion absolutely melt in awe.

Like a Dragon is a Christmas video game series.

You do not have to do all that to unlock Amon. It's just the substories.

You will have to visit all hostesses at Jewel and Shine at least once for a few of the substories, but the hostess progression itself is not a substory.

Phew. After a lot of side stuff, finally moving on into the "Credenza" region.
