I didn't really screw around with interlink level 3 and Ouroboros chain commands too much. However, I do know that if you are interlink level 3 whilst in Ouroboros form, and you execute a chain command, you do both of your Ouroboros attacks, then the chain ends.

Ah I have to be in Oroborous form when pushing the button.

Mother McCree please tell me not all Hero Quests involve as much faffing about as the Potato Saga.

Phew. After a lot of side stuff, finally moving on into the "Credenza" region.

I'd post a pretty funny edit of the scene but it's surrounded by spoilers so RIP there.

I've certainly noticed that everyone in the City is a Homs-race human (or a Nopon). Which is odd considering one of the Founders was a Gormotti-race like Mio.

The City population is a mix of both sides. One of the Founders was explicitly descended from XB2's Vandam.

Someone said earlier in the topic that the whole Nopon thing is weird in this game, but I think there might be something more to it, even if it's not explicitly stated.

The side story quests got some nice lore to them but I feel they should've been mandatory as a result.

I feel that's a good reward for them. Main story is the immediate threat. Side stories reveal stuff about the world you don't need to know, necessarily.

But damn, did Colony 5 get wiiiped.

Pretty messed up that your reward for surviving and being the best soldier you can be for Moebius is for them to personally slaughter you once you hit Gold rank

Yeah, that was a pretty messed up revelation. But it made a lot of sense, because I had been wondering "why haven't we met any gold ranked colonies?"

Oh absolutely. Well that just underlines that it's not about the war and who wins. It's about using Keves and Agnus as cattle and harvesting them. The goal is to reach a point of peak harvest or die trying, and you die anyway once you reach it.

I kinda figured this out as soon as I learned there were Moebius consuls on each side. I'm like "oh this is just a manufactured war and the whole point is just the killing".

Also killing a Colony the moment it becomes better than all the rest of the colonies ensures that the war continues with no one really getting an advantage.

And it seems to be powering Moebius members to possibly live longer? I'm sure there's something else.

The whole project feels like it was hijacked from its founders (the "real queens").

But I'm just leaving Swordmarch now so we'll see. Kinda wild to note that Cadensia is "the last area" on the ring of land that makes Aionios. I figured there would be a couple more at least.

Aw lame. Screw that while on the Boundary you still have the same map reveal radius. Gonna be looking at a map of curvy lines instead of the whole thing. Who the heck's got it in them to chart the entirety of the Erythian Sea?

Thankfully you just need to find all the Landmarks and Locations for the map to fill in. Ain't nobody sane got enough time to chart the entire place manually.

I never knew that either. It was a great relief to see the whole thing fill in once I found the final landmark. Just cheat and use an online map to find them all.

yep, that's been a thing since XC1. the Eryth Sea in that game had a similar issue.

Finally beat 3. Wondering if I should load it back up soon to start preparing for superbosses, or whether I should give it a break for now until new DLC happens. I don't have to do a NG+ to have access to everything, right?

Eh, if you haven't already started the post-game content, I guess it makes sense to wait for wave 2 of the DLC, since that's coming on October 13th. You can do the new quest while you knock out the post game stuff.

So it seems that Colony Mu's deal (via the side quests) is that they're dogshit at organization and logistics, whereas every other colony managed it in their own fashion, usual via systemic enforcement and chain of command.

That said, I'd be willing to believe "they're all just a very young colony compared to the ones where there are older people".

I think it's a bit more deep than that. Everybody is between 11 and 14. There's no one older for them to model after, and the Consul had a far more unique relationship than some of the others. One theory I heard was that the Consul basically farmed out the older colony residents for flame clocks, leaving just a bunch of kids that could be controlled more easily.

Yeah that's pretty good actually. I hadn't factored in the whole Consul thing in that. Which makes sense given the propensity for deception the Consul employed.

He is the best of the heroes. Sadly he is also the worst one.

Why must they make an awesome pirate companion and then make his class gimmick not actually apply to himself? He is basically uniquely the worst hero to bring along. :X

Yeah, sucks he can't be customized like the class itself.

Shame that you HAVE to be using Soulhacker at the time to get the art out of them. You can't even get the Art/Skill while just toting Triton around, so yeah, he seems pretty useless all told.

You unlock a skill that you can learn the skills even without anyone in the class. While it obviously isn't optimal against something like the superbosses, it's pretty trivial to just shove it on one person and go through everything like that.

And the class itself is amazing so play around with it when you get some arts to work with. While it isn't a good tank/healer until you get a couple of skills unlocked it basically always is a solid enough DPS (and goes to "this is OP" status later). It's just generally a blast to play once you have options to choose between and it has way too much customization to not sink hours into just theorycrafting jank builds.

Honestly I think this track did for me what You Will Know Our Names did for me in XC1. Which is funny considering that this game also has a version of You Wil Know but it falls comparatively flat for me. I dunno I'm weird.

The Chain Attack music's pretty damn good I have to admit, but I hate how it interrupts certain boss battle themes that are supposed to convey a different emotion.

I really appreciate that Triton's design evokes the pirate captain he's meant to be. He's got the design of a cravat and a ruffed collar around his neck. His helmet has curved horned elements such that from the front it looks like an officer's hat. And of course the cape.

Wow, even some of these low level Soul Hacks look not bad. Hmm.

Oh lol I noticed the Lone Vanguard's outfit. The gray t-shirt underneath has a navel divot and is stretched over the booba, on all characters regardless of gender.

Didn't have much time to play yesterday. Only on the second day of my prison sentence.

It's really a chilling portrait when you realize that Agnus isn't all that interested in killing the Lost Numbers, mostly because it doesn't get them anything. So instead they figure they can have a prison population to use as a slave labor force.

Ah, the fact that I saw long-haired Mio in a screenshot made it click once I saw M again.
