if you bought winds of magic and end up disliking beastmen, there is a way to disable the DLC. somewhere on the library page after clicking the game should be an option for "manage my dlc"

this used to be a lot more relevant when the DLC was new and utterly imbalanced/buggy (there was a lot of animation problems and you'd get hit by stuff nowhere near you, plus even on a good day they were overtuned), and i think it's better now, but fyi it's an option if you wanna just fight ratties. winds of magic's progression system is mostly self contained afaik so it should still be there when you re-enable it

I'm not the same person I was all those years ago. It feels weird having everyone talk about my edginess or ego or angstheism or whatever because none of that has been relevant to me for years. Like stepping back in time. To tell you the truth, I never even really had much of an ego, I was just a cringey teenager who mistook acting like a narcissist for having a personality. I'll admit the mattress thing is still relevant, but I would not have the desire to go around blabbing about it these days. My logic is simply that at a place where guns are expected to be fired, pointing a gun at someone is a bigger deal than pointing a gun at someone in a place where the gun would never actually be used except in exceptional circumstances. I also make a distinction between a gun being held and pointed at someone and a gun being placed on a table where it couldn't possibly misfire except in the most freak or freak accidents since no one was touching it.

As for if the guy was deliberately placing it in such a way, who knows, not you or I anyways.

That would be pretty uncomfortable I suppose, but arguing with him or telling him to move it probably actually slightly increased your chances of being shot somewhat ironically. That old couple who treated me to lunch were both armed and pulled out their guns when the subject came up as to how different the place is from the city I'm from. The guy who gave me a ride had several guns laying around in his truck too. Accidents can happen for sure but I guess I trust people who are that open and comfortable carrying them around to have some idea what they're doing.

That guy sounds like a deadbeat loser with some loose screws in his head. I havent really come across anyone like that in my life aside from maybe 3-4 people that i could ever recall being that loony.

Most guys would look at a woman and maybe think to themselves boy i bet shes good at x,y,z but they have common sense that says you dont say that or even act upon it outside of whats going on in the head.
