their hair is inherently different and including them in sweeping policy meant for people without that hair is discriminatory, if only because it doesn't take their inherent hair qualities into account. of course, theres lots of other reasons.

Sometimes 6pm and 6am is pitch dark. So instead of wasting time trying to ask morning/evening, you get the exact time, no confusion. This is especially important when you're communicating life/death situations and don't have time fumbling around with extra questions.

Its entirely normal for schools to force uniform and dress codes on students, commonplace in places like Japan or Korea for students to be restricted from dyeing their hair to other natural colors or wearing certain styles. Ofc some of this has relaxed in recent years.

IDK about Seattle, but in Alaska in the summer the sun doesn't really go down. You could wake up after a hard deep sleep and heavy night of drinking and have no fucking idea if it was 3pm, 6pm, or 1am

when I was doing night shifts, sometimes I'd wake up and not know whether it was daytime or afternoon because I also live in Seattle and our sun moves weird.

So military time allowed me to instantly tell night or day right after waking up.

It also removes ambiguity.
