Waffled like crazy on TB1 at the cost of losing sleep I'm really going to need for tonight but found TB2 super easy. TB1 is probably going to decide everything, as I think there's a pretty good chance going 6-0 will still require tiebreakers.

I highly suspect every single person is on the Bills, Seahawks, and Buccaneers today, with both the Bills and Bucs used for TB1 by some. It feels possible that someone could end the day 3-0 but also be virtually eliminated already.

No one will be on the Bears tomorrow. There may be one straggler on the Browns, but that's probably also 8-0. Ravens/Titans I could see a.. 6-2 split? *Maybe* 5-3? Either way this week feels l like it goes down to just 1 game and just 1 tiebreaker.

The Senate will likely flip back. The Dems wanted not just a majority here, but a cushion, since they expect to lose seats in 2022.

This ending was basically the miracle the Democrats needed for this to not be a massive failure in Congress, but I suspect both of those seats will flip back so this win is ultimately only temporary.

Dems didn't flip a single house seat, if I remember right.

The Republican party signed its soul with the devil and its shattered remnants have to try to pick up the pieces while his remaining minions continue to plague their soul. I honestly have no idea what they will look like in 2024. They've spiraled further down than I ever expected them to.

The loss of the Senate through Georgia was just devastating. It could not have made it more clear that everything done over the last two months has backfired. Georgia is shifting, but it's still a red state. I never thought I'd actually see a day where Georgia went solid blue.

I expect it to go right back to solid red if the Republicans put up an even slightly decent set of candidates in the future.

This lie about how he immediately deployed the National Guard is designed to give all the spineless Republican senators an out in impeachment proceedings. They will all claim he intended a peaceful protest that got out of hand. What Pelosi needs to do is file impeachment charges not only pertaining to the Capitol, but also based on the Georgia phone call to make it tougher for Republican senators to weasel out of this.

I suspect she'll be smart enough for that but we'll see.

The point is, their constituents are not set in stone. Voters come, voters go. If they try for higher office, their voter pool grows enormously.

I want every single one of them to be on record for this so that they can't weasel out of it in the future. There needs to be a record so that they are held to account for every single future election that they compete in.

Oh that's perfectly fine. 12-16 years from now this turns into fodder to use against them. Won't be anytime soon though.

I want every Republican member in congress to have to vote and reckon with the fact they enabled this idiocy and treason and see now if, after everything, theyre still willing to excuse it. If theyre still willing to furrow their brow and talk about how gravely concerned they are while DC burns at his hands. Make them vote. Make them acknowledge all of this. I would love something to be done but at the absolute least you know where all they stand and you can pound the message over and over again in 2022.

It's still both perplexing to me and disturbing to me that every black person on my team found everything that happened yesterday to be "fun to watch" and "hilarious" to the point where it drove the two white ones completely out of the room. This isn't hyperbole, this is exactly as it happened. I commented on it as it was happening. We both ducked out of that room unnoticed.

They seemed to have zero actual concern for what was going on. They didn't even care that people died. It's still bugging me that they reacted this way and I just don't get why.

I definitely agree it's not the intended use and that impeachment would be better, but I'll take what I can get at this point (and yeah I think it would be an argument that he's mentally unfit (due to his narcissistic death spiral over his loss) to even do basic shit like call in the National Guard to stop terrorists from storming the Capitol).

Trump was described as "borderline enthusiastic" as he watched news of the riot for hours, which likely is a total understatement.

He had no interest in stopping it.

The problem about the 25th Amendment is:

1. With so many "Acting" heads instead of Confirmed Appointees do they even count for this? I'm not sure but that would have to be considered.
-a. What I mean here is keep in mind while Acting Cabinet heads are okay in certain situations, that's legally outlined with like time limits and such that this administration has just ignored and therefore courts have been declaring some orders made by them are to be thrown out because they should not be considered to be executing the true power of the position they are acting for.
2. With so many of the relative "adults in the room" chased out are we even remotely confident the current Cabinet isn't just almost completely replaced by lackeys who won't stand up to Trump

It's why I think Impeachment and Removal is the better option even if it has its own issues in terms of how quickly it can be accomplished. I legit think McConnell will go along with it the only question is if he can get ~18 more Senators on the Republican side.

It could be possible. Loeffler sounded like she was broken when she spoke, I doubt she's the only one.

Huh.

Something went wrong with my phone and it went into a death loop of nothingness and auto restarting every couple of minutes. It didn't feel particularly hot at all, but I tossed it in my bag in the fridge so I wouldn't have it spam vibrate my pocket.

An hour later, my phone is working smoothly again. I've never had streaming radio do anything weird to my phone like that, but maybe?

I'm going on break from 1-1:25 and returning for 2-2:35 after they leave. Supervisor won't really care what I do so long as its only an hour. I walked out to what can only be described as uproarious laughter.

My team has the TV on showing the riots during break.

They're taking it as a joke. Several of them are laughing about it and think the insurrection is funny. They don't seem to comprehend how serious this was.

This is also the last time the coup could have any pretense of being a peaceful protest. People talk about the war coming on inauguration day, but who would come?
