$500 can get you a lot of TV in 2023. As was mentioned above TCL and Hisense make some great stuff for not a ton of money.

I got the Hisense U6G last year and it's been great. It didn't have some of the features a console gamer might want (VRR & support for higher refresh rates in general.)

It's been written about hundreds of times. The music of our youth makes us think of our youth. You attach the music to a simpler time. You have no fondness to today's music, even if it's in a similar genre to what you used to listen to, because as you get older you don't relate it to life events like you did when you were younger.

So you don't even bother to seek out anything new, because you rather the comfort of your "youth music" and how it makes you feel.

I've had four vaccine shots and will continue to get them as they are released. I actually did get COVID last year from a festival (most likely the Rage Against the Machine day since I literally had other people's sweat on me from being at the front rail), and it kinda sucked, but the vaccines did the job and I just slept dozed on my couch for a week.

Man sorry to hear you've dealt with city wide natural disasters. EVs can be used to power your home while they still have juice. If the roads are driveable I'd charge outside the city or be stuck like everyone else. Maybe wise to invest in doomsday solar panels.

I dealt with this during the freeze in Texas in 2021. You can't charge at all, which is worrying. I had gone about 3 days with no power or heat. The only way I could get heat was to run the heat in the car and just sit in the car for a while.

I was seeing the range drop and getting nervous, lol. I decided to venture out to see if I could find somewhere to charge. Much of the city was without power, but certain sections were either still on and they were doing rolling outages or they were near hospitals that weren't going to get shut down.

The charger down the street from my apartment was dead. I went to Leon Springs, TX and that one was on at the time. For some stupid reason, I decided to just drive further west on I10 to see if they had power in the small towns outside of San Antonio. It was just darkness. I decided to turn around once I got to a McDonald's. I passed the McDonald's up entirely becuase it was so dark I couldn't see it. I turned around and headed back toward the supercharger. My windshield started icing over as I was driving.

I got back to the supercharger and it was dead. So I kept driving to the other side of town on icy roads to a supercharger that's at an HEB in Schertz, TX. That one was on at the time, fortunately, so I was able to charge up.

I've never exp a power outage of longer than a couple hours. My car is never at 0 so in an emergency I could top up for 10 min at a super charger like anyone would at a gas station.
