Before decent Internet lol  ''Everything you'll need to succeed" It doesn't even have any of the optional stuff, like at all lol. Had a look through the beginning and it suggests that meeting Ellone in the Infirmary at the very beginning of the game may differ depending on how you responded to Dr Kawodaki (My head hurts etc). Lol. Still, got a lot of nostalgia reading through it. Am I in the minority of people who has never really used Card? By the time you get Diablos you should already have a good enough deck by default to get the majority of level 5/6 and below cards which can turn you into a powerhouse early game (hello Abyss Worm) --- Well done to azuarc for finishing 67 places above me in the 2020 GOTD Guru Contest! |

| Cavedweller2000 07/25/20 6:51:36 PM #236 | There are 2 "main" musical compositions. Plus you can mix and match like you did in your playthrough but they comment on how awful the music sounds. Your choices will slightly alter the dialogue between Squall and Rinoa. Sax, Electric Guitar, Piano & Bass Guitar and the band will play "Eyes on Me", the main theme of FF8. If you choose this then S+R will have a little argument. Guitar, Violin, Flute & Tap which will play an Irish jig. If you choose this composition then they open up to each other a little. The pacing was generally good, the music was awesome in places. The only thing I could really gripe about is the battle mechanics were maybe a little too convoluted. I dont think I got the most out of it. I liked the pitstop areas where you can take a breather and do some side quests. If anything, more side quests please? (I'm a side quest kinda guy). The worst thing about GFs auto-learning abilities is that they prioritize GF HP and Str abilities, which are the least useful.This irritates me to this day as I often forget to change once a HF has learned an ability. For the record TC FFVIII was my very first RPG of any nature and got to the end of disc 2 before I learned about refining abilities. It has a fairly steep learning curve. Not by design but because of the points mentioned above. Literally the easiest thing you can get that junctions super well to HP.This. And you should have 16 wizard stones from beating Granaldo. Use one of the element magic refines to turn them into 80 -aga spells and Junction to strength as a quick fix. In all fairness you should naturally have a fair few items that can refine qell just from beating bosses. This can only be restored at end of chapter or random boxes strewn about. Thanks again for the tip. I've already beaten the VR missions, but Hard Mode main game is still tricky in places.
