I saw two BotW amiibos (Link and Link on horse) and Wolf Link from TP randomly in a GameStop last week. Picked them all up at full price and don't regret it at all. The look so much nicer than the Smash ones that I hunted during amiibo mania.

I really dig those shoes. I have a very similar pair - might actually be the same with different colors - and they look great. I'm not as crazy about the ties, but I almost never wead ties myself anyway.

As for what I've been feelin lately... not much of anything, sadly. Too busy working in an office and being a steady boyfriend to think about fun fashions. I wear the same boring clothes to work every week and then slip on basketball shorts and workout shirts when I get home because idgaf =(

If you're already happy with the quotes you're getting, then you're good to go. Cheapest thing to do would be to get day laborers while you drive the truck yourself, but then you gotta be ready to negotiate sternly and be comfortable giving orders to dudes who probably don't speak much English. From my experience, the actual work of the day laborers is on par with professional movers.

Yeah if you're making progress through the first DLC area, you're basically strong enough for anything in the main game.

I started a new game on Saturday and made a strength build, focusing on the Kirkhammer. Ol' Kirky was crushing everything, then I attempted the first DLC boss while underleveled and was ram-rodded like ten times in a row.

Is that the hardest boss in the game in everyone's opinion? I think the only one in contention is the secret DLC boss.

What about the massive opportunity cost of being forced to spend 40 hr/wk on playing games?

It's less of an opportunity cost the less happy/content you are with your career. You're probably not going to be an engineer, scientist, or doctor if you opt into this (unless you quit). But you can be a business owner, contractor, electricion, scuba diving instructor, whatever. There are still many opporrunities available for you, and one thing that keeps people from persuing those opportunities is the risk - risk that would be mitigated by steady income and health insurance from an easy main gig.

I fucked up by not including a 40-50k option, my bad.

Anyway, I'd happily do this for 40k. It represents a 35% pay cut for me, but I'd trade that in a second for the increase in freedom and decrease in stress. Between the actual time at the office, the time to get ready, the commute, the time spent even thinking or stressing about working at home... almost no one with a career-oriented job is actually working 40 hours a week. I'd say that my job consumes closer to 50-60 hours a week of my time, and I'd easily trade that for a flat 40 hours of leisurely gaming.

40 hours, when used to do something you like, can go by very quickly. You wouldn't have enough time left over for a traditional corporate job, but you'd have MORE than enough time to pursue other things (or avenues of employment) that you might actually enjoy.

Hell, if I'm just casually playing RPGs and Nintendo games, I can knock out my 40 hours in 3 marathon days and have the other 4 to do whatever I want. No brainer for me.

Indeed. You can try to be a tourney player and win money/sponsorships if you want, but you can also spend 40 hours just gaming casually. Your call.

What's the least pay you will accept to become a salaried video game player (read the fine print below)?

- you must quit your current job

- you can try to ge another job if you feel you can handle it, but you can not get your old job back (you can try to get a similar job, but not the exact same one you had before)

- you must play for 40 hours a week. This does not include any time spent discussing games or watching lets plays. You must actually be gaming for 40 hours per week

- you make your own hours. If you want to knock out your week with two 20-hour sessions, your call

- you will be given a weekly budget to ensure you always have enough consoles/games to keep you employed

- you can not resell any of your games or game equipment

- you will receive modest annual raises to account for general inflation

- this job has similar healthcare benefits to the one you currently have. If you currently have no health benefits, same applies to this gamer job

- you get four weeks of annual PTO to cleanse your mind and body of gaming

I always provide a lot, and my guests are cool and always bring something. We usually wind up with a ton of food and drinks and it turns into a great time. I rarely drink outside of parties and I always have a full bar ready to go that's mainly the result of friends bringing extra provisions to our get-togethers.

As the host, my rule is to assume nothing and have everyone covered, whether it's BYOB or not. If you have tons of extra stuff, congrats - you'll have a great night and enough to do it again next time. It's always better to be seen as a gracious host who throws a bomb party than to risk having a lame party.

Gascoigne's bane

Death, you have the DLC right? You'll be able to do it right after the chapel boss. I recommend at least checking it out because it has a pretty significant difficulty spike. It's fun for players just to see if they can handle the first few minutes at a low level.

Also, the very first enemy you see has a chance of dropping a gem that's probably better than anything you have right now. You can farm him to really get your weapons beefier.

so basically, the onehanded Ludwig Blade isnt as damaging as the 2handed one?

Yeah, the 2handed is where it shines.

Anyway, my thoughts in Ludwig's and why it's arguably the most popular PvE weapon:

- It scales very well with STR and DEX, meaning you can pump points in both to make it beastly

- You can switch between a very quick one-handed sword and a lumbering greatsword with huge stopping power

- Can be infused with both fire and bolt paper (not all weapons can)

- Both forms have a hidden "holy" or "righteous" bonus that's like serration but even less mentioned in the game. It's not nearly as useful as serration, but it does do 50% bonus damage to enemies in one optional area that you'll definitely explore later on.

- The greatsword moveset has attacks that hit very wide along with an overhead L2 that hits high and comes crashing down (great for certain enemies/bosses)

- The greatsword charged R2 attack is a lunging stab with enormous damage and stun output. If you trade hits with it, it will often overpower the enemy and give you all your orange HP back.

It's that charged R2 that really puts it over the age. Bloodborne is a souls game in spirit - you have to be careful because you know that any enemy has the potential to kill you, but once I got Ludwig's, I just felt like it gave me the power to play with more freedom and carefree aggressiveness. It's the closest thing you get to Easy Mode in the PvE, imo.

Yep, I think Old Yharnam is the toughest early area in the game (ahead of both the Chapel and Hemwich Charnel Lane). The chaingun can kill even a decently beefy player in a second, and poison introduces a new element to worry about. And again, I've always had a tough time with its boss. Some people find it easy but it handed me my ass more times than un-cheesed Gascoigne.

I think Old Yharnam is usually done before the chapel boss, but the area is optional and I honestly feel like it's tougher than the chapel (boss included). I try to do it as early as possible because it opens a cool optional area which leads to arguably the game's most broken PvE weapon.

But I feel like with a +5 Cleaver, the chapel boss won't be a big challenge right now regardless. What level are you?

Approach them at an angle and as soon as the raise their flamethrower, dodge toward them at that same angle (basically ducking under their weapon). We've all harped on it, but the game really does reward proper dodges toward the enemy, straight into danger.

Though given you only died thrice to Gascoigne (I died maybe ten times? I still consider him a difficult boss without cheesing), maybe you should be giving the rest of us advice!

I'm interested to see how you deal with Old Yharnam. It's the first "different" area of the game imo.
