The Spear and Cleaver are similar enough that I don't think you need to upgrade both. They might be the two most similar melee weapons in the game, actually.

Good decision focusing on Vitality. Bloodtinge and Arcane don't need to be touched since they're just too specialized for a first Bloodborne run. Endurance is good, but it's not as important in this game as in Souls (you're given plenty to attack and dodge everything right out the get-go). Strength and/or Dexterity will be your second primary XP dump once you figure out which weapons you like, or you can take both to 25 to build a balanced character.

Vitality sees diminishing returns after level 30, but up to that point, I think it's the best stat in the game. I've prioritized getting VIT to 30-35 before almost anything else, and I hardly ever die when I do.

As for those two first bosses: one is very much a "Souls" style fight. The other is unlike anything featured in Demon's/Dark Souls and is one of the first enemies that really teaches players how to play BB. He's one of the most highly regarded bosses in the game. =)

tfw you're farming for vials and you get shining coins teeheehee

As others have said, definitely use your upgrade materials on your Cleaver. That's the quickest way to get stronger early in the game. Also explore those rat-infested sewers. They have new enemies down there that are tough, but the reward is worth it.

I had to furnish my condo with mostly new stuff when I bought it. Let's see...

Fridge - $1,000
Gas Range - $500
Bedroom set - $750 (bed with mattress, dresser with mirror, two nightstands)
Sofa/Loveseat combo - $700 after shipping
4x Ikea chairs for dining table - $40 each
TV Stand - $150
Coffee table - $100

I'm really happy with how everything looks considering I bought so much of that stuff on the cheap. The sofa/loveseat is my favorite:

I know the color is a little much for some people, but I love it and they cost me $575 before shipping.

Saw Cleaver gives a damage bonus to beasts (which you fight a lot).

Yeah, Cleaver is one of the few weapons to have this bonus, which is not explained well in the game. You get a 20% damage bonus to beast-type enemies. What are beasts? Basically, any enemy with lots of fur or feathers, like the werewolf you first encountered.

I like the Axe as a starter because its charged two-handed attack can be used to cheese some enemies (though it leaves you vulnerable). The Cane has better scaling than the other two (meaning it gets more benefit when you level up Dexterity than the Axe does when you level Strength) and looks the coolest. The Cleaver is the worst of the three imo.

His office at WQED Pittsburgh famously did not have a desk, only a sofa and armchairs, because Rogers thought a desk was "too much of a barrier".

I don't see any real reason for him to go out West. In the East, he can coast for the regular season and is essentially locked to start his "real" season in April or May. You can't do that in the West. Besides, how many West teams (Warriors and Spurs aside) have a better supporting cast for LeBron than the Cavs already do right now?

I can see where Seabass is coming from. That moment didn't really "hit me" emotionally on the first watch, but I still enjoyed it as a twist ending, and I love the way it was pulled off. The music was amazing, as was Rick's adjustment to a new universe without missing a beat. He grabs a soda, leaves the freakin fridge door open, and puts a foot up on the coffee table. Not only does this hint that he's done this before, hell you can also take it to mean that he might not even be the same Grandpa Rick that Morty grew up with. His own life could have been filled with a slew of Ricks who fuck up their own realities then jump into his as replacements.

It's definitely my favorite moment of the show so far.

Also Rick's "not like we can do this every week! We get three or four more of these, tops" might be my favorite laugh line as well.

Yeah, it can't be a good feeling to slowly lose your faculties within a scarily changing world. I'm seeing it with my grandma now as she approaches her mid 80s. In her late 40s, her husband died to lung cancer. She responded by raising their four kids on her own as a Christian widow in Iraq. She was a true badass. Now she's scared to be left alone in the house. My parents sometimes call me to drive over and watch her when they want to go out. It's sad to watch a lion turn into a frightened kitten.

How does that same neighborhood treat YOUR family?

Eh, my family's never had a REAL problem with integration (general cultural awkwardness aside) because we're super educated and speak "proper" English. I own a condo next to a lot of people who bought theirs during the recession when the units cost like... $70k each. They're elderly and they're lucky, but they're not that educated so I make it a point to impress them during our first conversations, thus assuring I don't end up on their bad side. Now they ask me for free tax advice.

I'm lighthearted about the whole thing, but I'll never lose sight of how lucky I am to have an education. A regular ol' Joe Schmo immigrant with no higher education and a simple job will have a very difficult time integrating, even if he abides by all laws and keeps his nose clean.

Yeah, and I really sympathize with these detained guys and their families. The population makeup of Iraq has changed dramatically since the war, at least as far as Christians. Most Catholics/Christians have fled to other countries. If these guys were sent back to a country they know practically nothing about (some of them don't even speak Arabic), they'd have zero family/support to count on and might not last long.
