| Bugmeat 03/26/20 1:32:24 PM #10 | Traffic had a noticeable decline here in Bakersfield. But not nearly approaching what one might consider a ghost town. I get mostly green lights on my drive to work in the mornings and cars are few enough that I don't have any trouble getting around people when they're going slower than I want to go. My drive home is on the freeway though. There are still enough cars there that I still get stuck behind slower traffic. I don't go to stores often, even before this outbreak, so I haven't been out to see if there's been any change. My GF works at Home Depot though and she says it's actually busier than ever with people buying all sorts of non essential items. Bringing their kids with them, just loitering and touching everything as if it were business as usual. --- "Genetics is fascinating. The GF and I are still working and her employer gave her an additional 40 hours of paid time off, on top of everything she has already banked. Then take it into combat against other survivors and their rides. It's free to play so it's pretty grindy. Many diseases are named after the region they were first found. German Measles, Ebola, Spanish Flu, Valley Fever, West Nile Virus, Zika Virus and Lyme Disease are just a few that I can think of. And while most of those aren't named after a country, they are all named after the region they were originally found. Idk why you think it would mean anything... Shifting when people get up also shifts when people go home and when they go to bed. Take the crime of burglary for example, you want to wait until the business is closed and all the staff have gone home or when everyone in the house is sleeping. Or auto theft. Better to wait until the owner has gone to bed or when the parkinglot isn't active with people still out for the night. If everyone now goes to bed one hour later you lose an hour of darkness to work with because you are waiting for streets to clear a little or for people to go to bed.
