You have open areas you can roam around in and do stuff like the boat in the ocean and some shoe vehicle in the desert. The gameplay is pretty different. This answers some questions about why the new games are different. Nintendo no longer allows OCs. It explains why there are so many Toads. Honestly the first game was 90% Toad NPCs so I dont think that's a mega deal breaker in that area. It is a bummer that we might never get cool characters like Vivian or Rawk Hawk ever again. They don't use the old battle system because they don't just wanna do the same thing again. That's fine with me but you gotta bring something to the table that's just as fun and rewarding.
