Phase 1 and 2 had some real stinkers but this feels particularly bad because Phase 3 was quality and Phase 4 just wasn't able to keep that up.

Male whales along Australias eastern seaboard are giving up singing to attract a mate, switching instead to fighting their male competition.

Associate Professor Rebecca Dunlop from The University of Queenslands School of Biological Sciences led research analysing almost two decades of data on humpback whale behaviour and found singing may no longer be in vogue when it comes to seduction.

In 1997, a singing male whale was almost twice as likely to be seen trying to breed with a female when compared to a non-singing male, Dr Dunlop said.

But by 2015 it had flipped, with non-singing males almost five times more likely to be recorded trying to breed than singing males.

Its quite a big change in behaviour so humans arent the only ones subject to big social changes when it comes to mating rituals.

The researchers believe the change has happened progressively as populations recovered after the widespread cessation of whaling in the 1960s.

If competition is fierce, the last thing the male wants to do is advertise that there is a female in the area, because it might attract other males which could out-compete the singer for the female, Dr Dunlop said.

By switching to non-singing behaviour, males may be less likely to attract competition and more likely to keep the female.

If other males do find them, then they either compete, or leave.

With humpbacks, physical aggression tends to express itself as ramming, charging, and trying to head slap each other.

This runs the risk of physical injury, so males must weigh up the costs and benefits of each tactic.

Dr Dunlop said male whales were less likely to sing when in the presence of other males.

Singing was the dominant mating tactic in 1997, but within the space of seven years this has turned around, Dr Dunlop said.

It will be fascinating to see how whale mating behaviour continues to be shaped in the future.

Co-author, Associate Professor Celine Frere said previous work by UQs Professor Michael Noad found the whale population grew from approximately 3,700 whales to 27,000 between 1997 and 2015.

We used this rich dataset, collected off Queenslands Peregian Beach, to explore how this big change in whale social dynamics could lead to changes in their mating behaviour, Dr Frere said.

We tested the hypothesis that whales may be less likely to use singing as a mating tactic when the population size is larger, to avoid attracting other males to their potential mate.

PS4 discs can max storage size is 50 GB, so any game much bigger than that is gonna require an update for the game to be complete, or be a two disc game (Cyberpunk).

I'm unsure what the PS5 disc max storage is.

That's what's been happening now. Both Horizon: Forbidden West and GoW: Ragnarok were one disc on PS5, but two discs on PS4. I know the same thing happened with FF7R as well.

PS5 disc storage is either BD-66 (66 GB) or BD-100 (100 GB).

It might need to unpack the game to apply the patch because some games do that instead of just adding the new data,

If you just do the install completely from the disc it's only 59 GB, and then when you prompt it to look for an update it starts downloading the 35 GB patch.

Downloading it completely or doing the "Ready to Play" install method (both of which include the patch in the downloaded part) is an 89 GB install.

So there's like 30 GB of data present in the patch that isn't actually included with the disc. Given that's like a full third of the final install size it suggests a chunk of the game is legitimately missing.

Like, is the entire game not actually on the disc? Wtf

Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters was denounced by Ukraine Wednesday after he told the United Nations Security Council that Russia's invasion of its neighbor was "not unprovoked."

The 79-year-old, who has sparked controversy before this with his stance on the war, was invited by Moscow to address the 15-member Council.

"The invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation was illegal. I condemn it in the strongest possible terms," the British musician said via video.

But Waters then implied that Kyiv was to blame as well.

"Also the Russian invasion of Ukraine was not unprovoked. So I also condemn the provocateurs in the strongest possible terms," he said, calling for an immediate ceasefire.

Ukraine's UN ambassador hit back, playing on the title of one of Pink Floyd's most famous songs.

"How sad for his former fans to see him accepting the role of just a brick in the wall, a wall of Russian disinformation and propaganda," said Sergiy Kyslytsya.

Kyiv's representative even referenced the giant inflatable pink pig that featured in many of the progressive rock band's shows.

He said he was surprised the bassist had not arranged to have it floating in the Security Council chamber.

"What could it have been this time Mr Waters? Pigs with swastikas and the hammer and sickle?" Kyslytsya asked during the surreal discussion.

The Council has held numerous debates on the war but has failed to take any action due to Russia's veto.

"If this is a toothless chamber, I can open my big mouth on behalf of the voices without fear of getting my head bitten off," Waters said.

Russia requested the meeting to discuss arms supplied to Ukraine by the West.

Last September, Waters was declared persona non grata by the Polish city of Krakow after his concerts were scrapped there over his war stance.

Waters had written an open letter that month saying the West should stop providing arms to Kyiv, accusing President Volodymyr Zelensky of allowing "extreme nationalism" in Ukraine and urging him to "put an end to this deadly war."

This week, Pink Floyd songwriter Polly Samson, wife of band member David Gilmour, called Waters "anti-Semitic" and "a Putin apologist" in a tweet.

Waters responded by posting a statement on Twitter that said he "refutes entirely" Samson's accusation.

Pink Floyd reunited last year, without Waters, to release a single in support of Ukraine.

It's pretty much universally accepted that it is lol.

The only real challenge is the second form of the final boss, and even then you can still beat it with a team of mid-level-30s if you know what you're doing.

The problem of course being that you have to actively avoid battles to even keep your level that low.

Oh yeah the laughable PONRs in the third game too.

Also DD is only supposed to take place like 30 years after the end of TLA but with how much everything has changed it feels more like centuries. They definitely fucked up there too because there's a lot of points where DD's connection to the other two feels tenuous at best.

Yeah I don't really understand what they were going for with the third game. Enemies gave out a ridiculous amount of EXP compared to the first two games so you just became laughably over-leveled without even trying.

The plot's also kind of goofy in the sense that the really, really bad thing that's threatening to destroy the world that you set out to stop at the beginning of the game essentially becomes completely forgotten about at a certain point, and then suddenly at the end of the game it's like "Oh yeah remember we gotta stop this".

And then the cliffhanger...

The first two are really good, and if I'm not mistaken the Djinn mechanic was, and still is, a fairly unique concept.

The third one (on the DS) is still a good game, but it basically had no chance of living up to the first two.

They totally turned it down consumer wise though. (which I think is what you meant anyway) I remember getting the 60GB when it went down to $500.

It's still mindblowing that it launched at 600 dollars.

It's also releasing on PS4 and PS5, so I'm hoping the existence of those two means we'll eventually see a lower price on the Switch version than we've ever seen with OPT1.
