Not even a full remake and is actively made worse by having played the original, since all of the added plot feels like filler. And that ending... yikes. I can only imagine how future installments will drag down the rest of the original game.

Its a spin-off, not a remake in the traditional sense of videogame remakes. The word Remake in the title refers to storyline events,

Me, I just care about likeable main characters. I don't need to have my own attributes represented, but I do want the character to be somewhat relatable. Relatable but different is a valid characterisation.

Its pretty good I thought. There's no super powers like in some fighting manga, but Chinmi does have some special moves to keep the fights interesting. The focus is more on the story than the fights, but the fight scenes are also quite decent. I didn't feel like they dragged on for ages like in Dragon Ball.
