What are the controls to these games like? I seem to remember the first one having odd controls. Like you have to use the right stick to rotate or something like that.

First one had two types of control actually, there's a mode for single-stick movement and turning unless you use the vacuum.

Dark Moon was the same as the single stick turning from the first one, only you couldn't turn while using the vacuum I think (no second stick after all).

Heh. I actually thought of that while I was typing that up and was like "huh."

Of course you realize I picked that scene entirely at random.

I suppose one pro to the slug was it showed us a more cautious side of Han's charatcter after he spent the entirety of Hope being as reckless as possible. But yeah, the same criticisms mostly apply.

I'm all for picking apart the prequels but I think some scenes are just there for entertainment purposes. That giant fish creature was there for a chase sequence and the punchline of "there's always a bigger fish" and the space slug was there for a scary moment.

I'm okay with scenes like those as long as it doesn't dawdle too long on it.

This is the same industry that unilaterally decided that single player games were passe, and nobody liked survival horror games anymore. Quelle surprise when both sell ridiculously well because people still crave the experiences.

Yeah, it's funny how much publishers are out of touch. In my eyes, genres never truly die, there's always fans for any genre. Some are more mainstream than others. But the moment you stop making games that appeal to these fanbases, you lose customers.

Like, I don't play multiplayer very often, so I often avoid games that are strictly multiplayer or have a high emphasis on it. If the industry ever decides that "games as a service" and "multiplayer" are the way to go and decides to dump single-player experiences completely, then I'm done.

Either way, I always thought it was a stupid idea to have different directors for a set trilogy, and TLJ had problems, but I feel the hatred towards that movie is so overblown. It's far from the worst movie in the franchise, and it didn't ruin or demolish the franchise either.

One droid and one cruiser can't possibly take out an entire fleet of Star Destroyers the regular way.

Obviously, since cruisers aren't built for combat and are such large targets they'd be decimated before they lined up for the hyperspace ram.

Of course, that brings up the problem of why didn't the FO Star Destroyers just go and destroy the cruiser in the first place. That's really my whole issue with the entire chase subplot since it was literally a pack of dogs slowly following a defenseless cat and not bothering to attack even though they easily could.

Seriously. Even if someone feels like it failed on every single character/storytelling point, the hyperspace ram sequence makes it at least a decent movie by default.
Absolutely not. That whole sequence trivializes every space battle in the franchise. Since hyperspace ramming is apparently a thing that decimates an entire fleet when used, why has it never been used before? Why didn't the Rebels just ram a ship into the Death Star? Or against the Star Destroyers above Hoth while they were trying to escape?

Simple reason: They didn't want to just send people on suicide missions. Alternatively, in case they use droids, they didn't want to waste resources.

Given the Jedi actions in the Clone Wars, the first one.

You're exactly right, based on the prequels, hence the problem. In the original trilogy, a Jedi would opt for the second choice. Obi-wan surrendered to Vader in order to give Luke 'permission' to leave without him. Luke threw his lightsaber aside rather than executing Vader in anger. The cave showed Luke his destiny, were he to continue to act with aggression and spite rather than patience and understanding. It is a detail worth noting that, in The Empire Strikes Back, Luke opens his lightsaber before Vader does. He initiates the conflict, and that is proof that he wasn't ready.

Actually, I think it's an interesting detail that Obi-wan might have changed his views on what a Jedi Master is after seeing what has become of the old ways. The way Luke approached the situation in TLJ shows he is simply following Obi-wan's teachings, rather than how things were back then.

You know what would've been a better way of keeping Leia alive in TLJ, instead of saying "she should've died at that part"? Have the team desperately try to bring Leia back into the ship through a tractor beam, cut away when they do get her, and make it vague on if she survived or not until she shows up later in the movie when she's needed.

And give the excuse that "maybe the Force kept her alive" if Rian wanted to keep the idea that she was Force sensitive in some way, just like her brother.
