Tbh, Gamefreak should've seen this coming, including the entire Pokedex in each entry until now. We're nearing 1,000 Pokemon and it's gonna be more and more difficult to port them all over and test them without the game itself suffering. They should've done it sooner, IMO.

I stand by the fact that Pokemon Home needs to double as an online battle simulator, like its own Pokemon Stadium. That way they can include every Pokemon in one spot and actually use them for battles.

30-60 hours depending on the game. Some games have more post-game content than others. This isn't counting getting a full national dex. (Since well...Pokemon isn't gonna have the natdex anymore.)

But in all seriousness that was a good review by IGN and pretty much what I expected from the game. Probably going to pick it up at some point because the positives are cool enough to outweigh the negatives even if they are glaring.

It seems to very seriously be a love it or hate it game. The game rewards the player for sticking through with it.

Everybody's posting scores without actually looking to see what the reviews say. What's in the reviews matter more to me than the score.
From what I'm gathering from IGN's 6.8 review:

- The world is gorgeous to look at.
- The story premise and storytelling are interesting and enough to keep you invested.
- The gameplay structure is mostly tons of fetch quests.
- More options in both exploration and combat open up rather late...10+ hours in. But when it does it makes the game more enjoyable.
- The inventory system is...sort of inventive but unwieldy. Every item literally has to fit on Sam's body and is shown on his person. Too much stuff slows him down and makes it harder for him to keep balance.
- Due to the tedious nature of exploration, keeping the "Bridge Link" system on is a must so you can use other players zip-lines, highways, and bridges to get places faster. Contributing to it also gives you points to help with upgrades.
- At the same time, the Bridge Link system makes bosses incredibly easy since you're constantly given supplies from other players.
- Game becomes plot dump central in the final moments of the game like a jRPG.

In conclusion, it's got a lot of cool ideas and a gripping story, but staying with the game requires a lot of effort. So...I was always kind of on the fence on this, and I feared that the gameplay might be too boring or cumbersome. It's definitely not something I think would be good for just playing casually. You really need to focus and be in the mood for it, apparently. Probably won't be day-one buy for me, as cool as the Bridge Link system is.

Also keeping in mind this video was made with Stamina Mode on with not actual players. Traditional percent mode would make 0-death combos not as easy in Turbo Mode.

Second, eh...I wouldn't say MGS4 wasn't good. If it honestly used the sneaking mechanics from Act 1 for more of the game it would've been better. I think people mostly complained about the half-assed "nanomachines" card it played for every explanation.

this is pure headcannon on my part - kojima's name being plastered all over mgs5 was done because konami limited his involvement with his team and basically didn't allow him to make the whole game, and he knew he was getting fired anyway.

I wouldn't doubt it, tbh. Maybe his relations with Konami were souring before MGSV. After all, apparently they weren't greenlighting anything he wanted to do except for Metal Gear (Silent Hills was the exception until they up and cancelled it on him) and one would likely get angry over that.
