I got stuck on Yugi vs Bakura (FINAL board version) because Bakura kept getting Final out and I was drawing absolutely 0 Spell/Trap clearing cards, Yugi's deck is NOT ideal for a bunch of the duels lol

A good amount of people think various points towards the end get messy and not tied up, and there are some I agree with them on Chimeras, like they go absolutely nowhere but generally I enjoyed the ride/ending. However I do recognize that some of it would be a bit tough to adapt for the anime, but I have faith in Orange considering they rearranged and altered a bit in season 2 and it worked out very well.

I honestly think all of the different summoning types they've added in are really neat, like I said I love how goofy Pendulum is, but it can be a lot to keep track of lol

oh in addition to some packs (and a booster box that my boyfriend and I split because he wanted the reptiles in it and I wanted the Ursarctics) I also got a structure deck having to do with the Ice Barriers that I was explicitly told was garbage but I liked the art on it and my boyfriend got a Charmers structure deck so we could square off with our newfound decks. Trishula is apparently good at least!

So I was a huge Yugioh head back in the day when the original series was airing, stopped a little bit into GX, and now recently got back into the cards thanks to my boyfriend. I've had a lot to catch up on as Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, and Link were not a thing when I was last playing! Pendulum seems so silly that I want to play it, so I've been collecting some Pendulum cards. The game really has shifted nowadays, turns can go on forever!

It's been probably 20-ish years since I've seen the original but it wasn't nearly as "jam as many pop culture references as possible"-ized was it? I feel like it wasn't, most of the extent of that came from the basketball players themselves right? eh Cloud would be more spicy in terms of name recognition rather than stats, like aren't his generally pretty middling-ish? Maybe on the upper end of middling, but still. Whereas Cecil is still god tier in stats, so it depends what you prioritize as spicy
