I looked it up, it actually sounds pretty good. It's just mashed potatoes topped with roast beef, gravy, shredded cheese, and sour cream. The different parts are just supposed to look like ice cream and toppings.

Gunlance is my favorite weapon but imo it can be hard to start with because you'll be limited to like level 2 or 3 shelling and although few skills are needed, you likely won't have easy access to the few mandatory ones like Artillery 3 or Capacity Up.

You definitely shouldn't be running out of time on most hunts. 50 minutes is more than enough even on multi-monster hunts (HP gets scaled down). The quests with reduced time limits are intentionally challenging but still very doable.
