You definitely shouldn't be running out of time on most hunts. 50 minutes is more than enough even on multi-monster hunts (HP gets scaled down). If it matters, you generally want to focus on boosting affinity over straight attack boosts, though just know that phials aren't boosted by this. Also see if you can cram focus on your builds as well, since it lets you charge phials faster (Damascus mail has this skill).
