Fantasy Strike (PS4)

Some low budget fighting game that's free-to-play with additional single player content locked behind a paywall. It was decent enough in the online when I was playing with SHINE and Wigs, but the solo content brings a whole other problem - loads and loads of crash bugs and lockups. There was none in the Arcade mode, but playing through Survival matches really brought out the game's problems easily. I tried inviting Wigs to a match and that crashed the game too. As such, I can't recommend this game to anyone if it runs this badly - it has some interesting ideas and rollback netcode, but the crash bugs really bring down the experience.

And that is my last beaten game of 2021. See you all next year!

I held off on playing P5 Royal just for that reason!

The Akiba's Trip games allow you to leave Akiba and end the game early at any time to return back to the start of the game with all upgrades and items intact.

Slayaway Camp: Butcher's Cut (Vita)

This game is a horror movie parody mixed with sliding puzzle gameplay and it was ok in theory. However the game ran like garbage, bugged out and crashed multiple times so I didn't really enjoy the experience. It will probably be my last platinum of 2021.

Back in 2017, I started this indie hack and slash title. I found it pretty decent, but felt that I was pretty bad at the game as I couldn't beat the second character's story mode in under ten minutes, which prevented me from completing the story of the full game. I never did remove it from my Vita and just let it sit in a folder for four years. Last month I loaded it up due to the TrueTrophies challenge to see if there were any other trophies I could get in it, and stumbled across a tip about turning on control assist in the options menu - and the results are a platinum trophy four years later. Even with that tip it still was a difficult one - the platinum requires the aforementioned story mode run to be done in eight minutes and thirty seconds, as well as to clear the 50-floor dungeon mode with no continues (with floors that have every monster on the floor deal double damage so you die in one hit to a miniboss. I died on the 50th floor twice before finally succeeding).

It's definitely a platinum that took a lot of effort and skill, and I'm happy with the results. Next platinum will probably be another Vita title as I'm away from my consoles for a few days.

need to get back to my Xillia 2 playthrough to continue this series... someday

Now that we finally have a decent version of III in the pixel remaster it may be worth playing, but I haven't played that version myself.

XIII and XV are both good games. Haven't played the others.
