Also actually saw Steins;Gate a couple months ago. It was the one I tried when I first thought of anime. Wasn't all that wild about it. Read the Elfen Lied manga, but haven't seen the anime. Liked the manga. Heart Lucy. Not sure if that's a thing that should be admitted. Haven't seen any others on the list.

Yeah. I played constantly back in middle school and high school, but then I never had any money and kind of got away from it. My video game history in the last 10ish years is just endlessly replaying old Final Fantasy games. It's sad. The diner I work at had a fire and I've been sitting around doing nothing while I wait 'til they get it fixed. Desperately in need of some way to kill time, so it's time to find out what video games from this generation are like.

Yeah, really. It's more moral to lie to her and pretend you want to be with her than to tell her the truth? Sounds to me like the hang-up isn't with doing the immoral thing, it's with admitting that you did the immoral thing and coming clean. If you leaving her is going to make her sad, then the only way you can avoid making her sad is by never leaving her. If you're not prepared to do that, then the earlier you rip the band-aid off the less it will hurt.

Yeah, I mainly take pictures on my free time, as a hobby if I'm not applying for jobs. I wouldn't mind getting hired by some lesser known news website(and not via one of the major 2 newspapers in Chicago, those papers are too greedy to the point they've laid off photographers among other positions) to take photos, but not sure which places would hire me for that. In Chicago, there used to be a news website called DNAInfo, but it pathetically got shut down last year by its owner after writers in a different city than Chicago(NYC) voted to unionize. Some of the writers are getting back together and forming a replacement for that site later this year(called Block Club), and I wouldn't mind if by some chance I could be hired there to take occasional pictures for that site? Who knows, maybe someday applying for some job will work out for me. We'll see....

Cool, I always wished I were more artistic. I learned that a camera does not a photographer make. I didn't have trouble when I went job-searching, but my method of being an unemployable loser slumming for bottom-of-the-barrel jobs may not be the recommended approach. In any case, I wish you luck. Seems like an awfully difficult thing to get into, but if you can make a hobby into a career it sounds like a nice way to go.

For this topic JUST on the thought of applying for jobs, almost a C. It's ridiculous how many I've applied for in recent years, and still don't seem to get hired at regardless of how much I try(sometimes repeatedly at a few places). I do still want to find another job, but with certain jobs it's BS that they want ____ amount of past job experience doing ____ job. And if you haven't had that experience in the past, it almost feels like a (near impossible, unless one is to white lie on an application and I'd rather not do that, though deep down sometimes I've wondered if I should have...) catch 22 question of how do you gain that? It almost seems like it may as well be an impossible task, to do. I almost just from NOW ON don't want to bother with online job postings, and hope for the best applying for those rare job postings that aren't posted online, and hope something works there. I've applied at too many job openings posted on some website, to yet again and again bother with job openings that are posted online.

No wonder I've often thought deep in my head about instead just signing up for art fairs, and selling prints of my photos I've taken instead. And to (almost) never again apply for jobs, since it's almost too much of a PITA to do. I feel convinced when I look at websites of people being annoyed about applying for jobs(i.e. just look at all the people whining/bitching on ANY indeed.com message board about how annoying it is to apply for jobs), that applying for certain ones is more a waste of time than anything(especially openings that are posted online). Don't get wrong I still do apply with some job openings I see from time to time, just that I've gotten to the point of saying 'fuck bother applying' at just a few certain places I've gotten rejected at numerous times over the years.

So are you a photographer, then? Sounds like a headache. Have you tried looking at different types of jobs that would suit you?

Well, truthfully... I was still pretty depressed. The difference was that I actually had people I could talk with (on the internet, as i've never had friends IRL). I had plenty of people to chat with on both CE and messengers... nowadays, I don't have any of that. I don't have anyone to really connect with, and it makes me feel so alone. Another thing is the fact that i've been a shut-in for almost five years now; the long, difficult years with no prospects of change have taken their toll.

My personality is no different than it was five or six years ago; at my best, I am a bubbly sort of person, liking to have fun and stuff. At my worst, I make topics like these as an attempt to have anyone pay attention to me and to vent. The only thing keeping me from being even worse are my antidepressants, which actually do help a lot...

Yeah, I feel like I can relate to most of that. I spent around 8 years as a hermit myself. And before I came here I used to hang out on some old chat site that's long defunct now. Back in the old days I had tons of online friends to chat with, then one by one they all moved on and left. And as I got older and more reserved it became harder and more awkward to reach out to others until it kinda felt like I was just returning by habit alone to a graveyard that once meant something to me. Those were rough times. Nowadays I'm trying an experiment to break through that reserve and reach out to others like I used to be able to. It's a little hit or miss because I'm awkward and kind of a weirdo, but it's actually sorta fun. In that vein, do you possibly by any chance maybe want to be my friend?

It made me wonder what you've been through since then that you seem so much more resigned and beaten down. It made me wish there were something I could do for you to make you feel better. It's a little overwhelming sometimes how much depression and pain and loneliness there is around here, and it makes me feel really helpless. I wish so badly that I could be someone who knew what to say, or do, or be, to make the world around me better and the people around me happier. But I don't know how to talk, I don't do anything, and I'm only me. Maybe I'm just tired. I'm making a solemn wish that in 5 years, on Valentine's Day 2023, I'm going to be reading a glowing, bubbly MorningRose topic about how excited you are for the evening's date and how content you are with your life. Then I'll think back on this topic and reflect on it the way I did with the other one, but then it will be so much more pleasant.

Yeah, I went to chase after my dog one day and I just jogged for like 45 seconds and I was breathing hard. I was thinking, "what the hell happened to me?" I didn't have much energy and I just didn't feel good. I guess I could share a couple pictures, though the 'before' is actually from a couple months into my exercising, so I was a little worse than that at the start. Still want to add a bunch more muscle onto my frame, but I'm pretty happy with how I've improved so far.
