If you were unemployed during the months you didn't have insurance, just claim exemption on the grounds that the cheapest plan would have been more than 10% or whatever of your income, which would have been $0. That's how I got around it. Doesn't require a mail in form either. Luckily I'll never have to worry about that disgusting law again.

Wasnt unemployed. Working a low paying job. All together my wife and I both make around 5-600 a week combined, maybe a little more.

Part of the reason is they don't really stick with anything. Another reason is everything sounds generic and done more so to fit the mood.

This country is super-polarized and Trump knows this and is capitalizing on it by using this type of language.
