The stock market is still in the middle of a correction of the second most overbought time in recorded history, but there may be a few decent investments if you look hard enough. It's very rare to find a stock with a P/E of less than 20, and if they are that cheap then it's usually for a reason. Bed Bath and Beyond has a P/E ratio of like 6 right now, and they're still paying dividends, but their earnings are dropping every year and their long term viability is threatened by online retailers much like Toys R Us. As a general rule, don't buy any stock if you don't think the company could exist 20 years from now. Netflix's very existence is in question with all their lost content, price increases, and increased competition from places like Amazon, Hulu, and Disney. And just stay away from commodities and crypto. Don't waste your money. You can't invest in things that don't create wealth. |
