He kept the timeline where Thomas Wayne becomes Batman (Bruce is killed instead as a kid), and Bruce/Thomas meet up. Thomas never wanted his son to be Batman, he knows all the damage and heartache it has caused himself, so he begs Bruce as a last wish (before that timeline disappears) to give up Batman.
