Psshhhh...who cares? He was apparently MEAN to non-white people!

The accusations against Churchill aren't that he was mildly insensitive. It's that he viewed Indians as so subhuman that he coldly dismissed (at best) a famine that resulted in millions of deaths.

http://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2031992,00.html

Mukerjee delves into official documents and oral accounts of survivors to paint a horrifying portrait of how Churchill, as part of the Western war effort, ordered the diversion of food from starving Indians to already well-supplied British soldiers and stockpiles in Britain and elsewhere in Europe, including Greece and Yugoslavia. And he did so with a churlishness that cannot be excused on grounds of policy: Churchill's only response to a telegram from the government in Delhi about people perishing in the famine was to ask why Gandhi hadn't died yet.

British imperialism had long justified itself with the pretense that it was conducted for the benefit of the governed. Churchill's conduct in the summer and fall of 1943 gave the lie to this myth. "I hate Indians," he told the Secretary of State for India, Leopold Amery. "They are a beastly people with a beastly religion." The famine was their own fault, he declared at a war-cabinet meeting, for "breeding like rabbits."

As Mukerjee's accounts demonstrate, some of India's grain was also exported to Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) to meet needs there, even though the island wasn't experiencing the same hardship; Australian wheat sailed past Indian cities (where the bodies of those who had died of starvation littered the streets) to depots in the Mediterranean and the Balkans; and offers of American and Canadian food aid were turned down. India was not permitted to use its own sterling reserves, or indeed its own ships, to import food. And because the British government paid inflated prices in the open market to ensure supplies, grain became unaffordable for ordinary Indians. Lord Wavell, appointed Viceroy of India that fateful year, considered the Churchill government's attitude to India "negligent, hostile and contemptuous."

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/7991820/Winston-Churchill-blamed-for-1m-deaths-in-India-famine.html
"It wasn't a question of Churchill being inept: sending relief to Bengal was raised repeatedly and he and his close associates thwarted every effort," the author said.

Arthur Herman, author of Churchill and Gandhi, contends, 'The real cause was the fall of Burma to the Japanese, which cut off India's main supply of rice imports when domestic sources fell short ... [though] it is true that Churchill opposed diverting food supplies and transports from other theatres to India to cover the shortfall: this was wartime.

Two, Trump was anti-abortion during his campaign whereas Obama never was regardless of whether or not abortions went down under his presidency (so fucking what?).

Three, people complained (not just Christians) about his church because its leader was an anti-American bigot who told lies to his congregation (like for example, that the white man invented the AIDS virus to wipe out black people).

It's absolutely a realistic situation that once you've removed the majority of religious sexual mores and set up a world where people can indulge in all their most debauched fantasies with little to no consequence that they will in fact do so at every opportunity. Sex is one of our most basic primal urges.

Backing up stacks is an expensive process.

That's the silly part. This stack is small enough to fit in a human brain, and somehow that can't be backed up unless you're super rich. Flashdrives today can be backed up for super cheap. And don't forget that this problem existed when Kovacs was in his original body. 200 years later and they still haven't reduced the cost of back-ups so that the middle class can afford it too? Problem is, the statue of limitations has run out for cases involving adults (10 years, and she was 18 at the time). She might be confused by the California law that went into effect last year which eliminated the old statute of limitations on rape cases (passed in the wake of the Cosby scandal). However, this law is not retroactive, only covering crimes committed after Jan 1st 2017.

One thing I don't understand: Just like 2 days ago the FBI was saying that releasing this memo could have consequences on national security due to the classified nature of the memo.

So if this is the memo... WTF was their big issue in the first place? I don't think the FBI as a whole is biased, but it seems a bit shady to go so apocalyptic on the release of what everyone here is saying is an inconsequential list of things people already knew.

https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/959536877668728832

So word is the reason the FBI didn't want the memo released is NOT because they didn't want to look bad. It's because the memo lists the exact dates of when Carter Page was under surveillance. This means Russia now knows exactly what was heard by the FBI. #FISAMemo

This guy is giving the memo far more attention than it deserves, but it's good to have this thing utterly decimated.

3/ Third, understand that the CIA told the BBC in January '17 that the most controversial allegation in Steele's dossierthe allegation the Kremlin has blackmail material on Trump of a sexual naturewas true. This means the CIA had likely told the FBI the same many months before.

That's a lie. Some alleged CIA spooks allegedly told Paul Wood that the claims were "credible". They clearly weren't of the belief that the allegations were true given the later testimony by IC officials to the House committee. If they had told the FBI that many months before, they would have lied to them which would only bolster Nunes's case.

The warrant then produced *spectacular* results.

Indeed, the man against whom the warrant was directed, Page, turned out to have lied repeatedly to the public about his many contacts with Kremlin officials and Kremlin-connected Rosneft executives.

The man has lied about many things to make himself look more impressive. Many of these falsehoods had nothing to do with the Russians. He's like one of those guys who imagines themselves as war heroes and collects military medals to pass off as their own to impress people around them. Most of these exaggerations/lies were uncovered not from the FISA warrant but from documents handed over to Mueller by Carter's legal team. I read his whole testimony and am 100% convinced that he is innocent of the allegations alleged in the Steele dossier.

the specific FISA standard is "probable cause that the target is an 'agent of a foreign power' who's 'knowingly engaging in clandestine intelligence activities.'" Remember: the FBI already found thatas to Pagein a 2013 probe.

The memo states that each renewal requires a separate finding of "probable cause". It contends that the Steele dossier was not a valid reason to renew the extension given its origins as politically funded opposition research. That's the meat of the memo.

I find the Trumpeter interest in this memo while also burying their heads in the sand regarding any Russian connections to be hilarious.

I find it hilarious how the left is totally oblivious to the Russian Jewish conspiracy that was peddled by GPS Fusion in its testimony to congress, part of which made its way into their beloved Steele dossier and was the main source for the politico story last year.

https://www.scribd.com/document/369470602/Glenn-Simpson-s-House-Intel-transcript#download

What conspiracy are you talking about? I've read the transcript, and all I can remember about that is Simpson discussing how there's a large Russian Jewish diaspora community with links to Russian organized crime and government that Trump and associates have interacted with.

I don't recall any of that in the dossier, either.

http://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-news-and-politics/253765/glenn-simpson-press-conspiracy-theory

Ah yeah, I forgot about the mention of Chabad, which did strike me as peculiar at the time, as I'm familiar with them as a friendly community organization. The Politico article offers some good background though: 1) Putin directly intervened to make Chabad the primary Russian Jewish organization. 2) Felix Sater, Trump associate, onetime mob-affiliate, onetime government informant, and potentially key Trump-Russia connection, is heavily involved with Chabad.

In any case it seems like it's just (potentally coincidental) background info at this point, and not very important to any outstanding claims or allegations regarding Trump-Russia.

It's very important since one of Steele's Kremlin sources fed him part of the same conspiracy, in which it is alleged that Russians agents were busy recruiting U.S citizens of specifically Jewish descent for purposes of political espionage. This aligns with the conspiracy peddled by Glenn Simpson, where he claims that Putin took over the Russian Jewish community and leadership and was using their connections for spying here in the US. It's a watered down "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" for a leftist audience (where Jews are still a nefarious cabal, but this time controlled by a nefarious gentile).

Wray and Rosenstein had their chance to argue why memo should not be released. They were overruled, even after other intelligence officials saw it. That they are now campaigning against WH in the media and with statements is pretty outrageous, to say the least. #FullofSchiff

What conspiracy are you talking about? I've read the transcript, and all I can remember about that is Simpson discussing how there's a large Russian Jewish diaspora community with links to Russian organized crime and government that Trump and associates have interacted with.

I don't recall any of that in the dossier, either.

The anticipation for this memo is killing me!!! I hope it covers more than just the FISA abuse stuff.

Was there a military experiment in the Philadelphia shipyard involving cloaking technology, and did the FBI cover it up?

Did the US recover UFO technology from Roswell in the late 1940's, and did the FBI cover it up?

Will it finally tell us the true nature of chemtrails and the role the FBI played in it all?

Having read The Memo, the FBI is right to have grave concerns - as it will shake the organization down to its core - showing Americans just how the agency was weaponized by the Obama officials/DNC/HRC to target political adversaries.

If we didn't have to sleep, our civilization would be twice as advanced with human colonies already on Mars.

You expect weight division realism in a franchise where the boxers had next to no defense and just allowed themselves to get pummeled with multiple haymakers without being dropped until the final round?
