I honestly still don't believe video games are about graphics, otherwise Nintendo wouldn't be doing as well as it does. I never had a vita but I was very iffy about PSP because I never got many decent games on it and then I expected the vita to do the same and I was a bit on the mark.

well it sells really well with children and people who are constantly trying to reclaim their childhoods by reminiscing about playing OoT and hoping each new game invokes that feeling lol.

I dont know if they still classify as Indie devs since their studio is now 18 employees but Early Access is a great way to release a game that isnt set in stone, acquire community feedback and alter the game based off that feedback. Thats how the first game The Forest was such a great success. I would even argue EA, when done properly is the BEST way to make a game. Because you can take a game thats okay and make it amazing.

Too many perceptions I am seeing is that game companies just want to use early acess to fund their unplayable game and make it work, when the proper way is taking an already decent game and perfecting it.

I believe they call those "live service" games

small dev doing early access? it depends on how long its in early access for, how frequently is it updated, whats the roadmap and when will it be out of early access

kickstarter, indiegogo, etc, are generally scams. people try to defend it by saying "you aren't purchasing the thing, you are investing, which isnt a guarantee you will get what you're paying for". but if you put a $20 pricetag on something and say "you will get this when we finish developing it", and then never finish developing it, that was a scam. obviously there have been some good games to come out of kickstarter, but its not the norm

there are also hundreds if not thousands of EA games on steam and we are only picking the most popular ones
also the price tag on the games is crazy lol. Kerbal Space Program 2 is $50, and listed as Early Access.If i'm paying anything more than $15 for an alpha it better be the most amazing game of all time
idk why devs think if they release the game as a full version they can no longer update the game either. I guess they just want to have the option to "increase the price" to try to get people to buy in sooner

As somebody who has over 2000 games on steam and has participated in early access many times I'm going to say that's bs. I've played many games where they update monthly and some even weekly. I think I ran into a bug once..

Bone-raiser minions just came out of early access by the way and that updated every Monday. Great game by the way. Played vampire survivors in an early access and that also worked out well. Currently participating in Spirit hunters which is an early access, they've come a long way with lots of good chunky updates and I think there are a few updates from 1.0. Don't starve was early access when I started playing it and they ended up releasing contract expansions long after the game was done and have even released DLCs.

You buy a game at "reduced" price, the game is riddled with bugs and glitches and lack of content for years, and a good portion of games seem to never leave early access at all! And there's nothing stopping the developer from just deciding they don't wanna work on the game anymore and ducking out

classes not having any sort of possibility room for build divergence means the materia system is one right choice and ten wrong ones. i acknowledge that sam and drg have (or had) some play with skill speed, but i don't know if that's still true, and not only are they the exception and not the rule, but it doesn't exactly smack of intent.

not a lot of depth to the class design. lots of homogeny. role action is a pretty shameless admission of defeat in both trying to balance classes and in trying to come up with unique abilities, especially the tank role actions. rampart is pathetic. every tank is going to use it, taking it is a non-question, so instead of having players 'engage' with a system just give tanks their own rampart, but also instead of it being this bland ass rpg maker-tier flat mitigation, come up with a class mechanic.

autoloot plus extra inventory space coming at a premium is slimy as fuck.

also, about the mounts that you can win from some fights, they have this 'safety valve' option too where you can just win the fight 99 times and trade in the tokens you get for doing that. i think it's mounts; whatever it is, the point is the guarantee after 99 wins. i don't think setting a finish line for something like that is the healthiest choice for your players. great for your game; keeps people playing it. but think of how many more people would give up after like, 20, 30, 40 tries at these if they didn't have it. achievements actually requiring these is another level of that. it's nasty.

its true, as an MMO it seems pretty poor, but thats perfect for the fanbase who tend to be antisocial mental health wrecks. Hell they're doing people a favor and it making it so you can play the game without having to interact with people lmao. Such sense of community, much wow.

Also the insistence they have in removing customizability and difficulty so the playerbase doesn't whine that they have to actually read their skill tooltips

Console gamers aren't interested in stuff like Total War or M&B or things like that where you have to learn the game and think. What sells consoles is brand loyalty and yearly releases like Madden and CoD.

Majoras lawyer said that the victim recanted and that there are witness statements and a video that supports Majors, but that the NYPD had to arrest Majors because that is policy(which is true, if a complaint is filed you do have to get arrested and processed)

I don't think he'd just say that stuff if it wasn't true either, he does have an attorney code of ethics and saying incorrect stuff about the case would land him in hot water and most likely have Majors fire him.
