did they ever come up with decent alternative memory solutions? I see adapters online to use micro sd but do they actually work?

The Vita really did deserve to be a success. Sony did everything right with it except for refusing to support it with good games.

I still love mine as a portable PS1 machine.

I know the Vita store got shut down but my massive collection of plus titles while they were being offered can still be downloaded right?

Its crazy how decent the Vita looked but was losing to the 3DS.

I honestly still don't believe video games are about graphics, otherwise Nintendo wouldn't be doing as well as it does. I never had a vita but I was very iffy about PSP because I never got many decent games on it and then I expected the vita to do the same and I was a bit on the mark.

I love my Vita but have mostly used it to play PS1 RPGs.

It's great because most games I've got on my Vita I have on my PS3 as well and can transfer save files back and forth. So I'm not committed to playing the whole game on Vita if I don't want to.

PSP had amazing games, just got pirated to hell and back. Vita also had a really strong Library, they just shout themselves in the foot with memory card prices and lack of lasting support.

They do work, but require a modded Vita in order to use. I have such a setup myself. If you're willing to risk a PSN account ban for modded hardware (which I understand is quite rare with Vita, unlike how it was on PS3), you can indeed use such a setup on a modded Vita to store your legit games from the PSN store.

If the Vita in question is the original model, you'll need an official card (though the smaller sizes will be fine) in order to mod it, but can do away with that afterwards.

It would be the borderlands 2 bundle so it would be the slim model.

Then you don't ever need an official memory card at all. I don't recall the exact details but it basically comes down to needing somewhere to store stuff while setting up the mod; the slim model has enough built-in storage space while the original model doesn't.

Thats an issue though if I wanted a modded one I could just buy one for like 150 or so, assuming these random Facebook listings are legit.

I've maybe seen two games that I really wanted on the PSP.

It's piss-easy to mod it yourself, it's basically just "follow the instructions". No disassembly or hardware fiddling required. Don't pay someone to do it for you, unless you specifically want a modded non-slim and paying someone is cheaper than buying a memory card.

Also just to go back to it, the only reason I brought up modding here is because you mentioned the microSD adapter (which will only work on a modded Vita).

I only brought it up because of the ridiculous memory card prices. You would have thought by now there would be enough time to just make it unnecessary to mod and one could simply throw a damn micro sd in it.

Don't buy one brand new, it's not worth it at all. Unless you're really into niche turn-based JRPGs it's just not worth it. PS1 and PSP games don't play that well on the Vita due to input lag and there not being L2/R2 buttons.

Even then, it's not that enjoyable due to how bad the battery life is. Even being in the LiveArea (main menu) causes the battery to drain fast.

well it sells really well with children and people who are constantly trying to reclaim their childhoods by reminiscing about playing OoT and hoping each new game invokes that feeling lol.

Lmfao

Bad name, new media format, no physical bc, no internal memory, only deep weeb games, etc

Just a few things, and I had one too.

Such a let down when the PSP was so cool and so successful for Nintendo handheld competitor.
