Yesterday I made a post of an old voice recording I found. It was a 30 second clip of Louis CK, but it was just his voice...and it was recorded from my phone. Somehow it was partially muted pretty much instantly. So I'm wondering if one of my "friends" had to report it or they have a way of reviewing it automatically. I don't want this shit to keep happening...how do I get around it? Will they accidentally mute something even if it's sped up or briefly interrupted to avoid censoring?

Haha. I like it. I'm really trying to get past all that old hippie 'we're all equals' nonsense. Some people are just better than others and Trump is an idiot. We should be scared and cautious of his presidency going into the future. At some point you have to fight fire with fire. Today I just made a status on FB talking about how I'm into X-Men because I'm all about being better than other people, because the standard isn't good enough. And I can say this without being someone who would want to arrest, degrade, belittle, or infringe on the rights of, someone just because I think they're not as good as me.

Yes I believe it is time to be blunt. Some people are just better...morally superior, more talented, more intelligent, creative, etc. So I went off and told people that one day I'm going to make a very crystalized piece of music that will expose racists for the peons they are, because I am better than those stupid fucks and I will enjoy proving it in multiple avenues of genius including, but not limited to, composing and poetry. These fucks are too dumb to do anything but hate on people and they keep us from talking about people for who they really are...their interests, goals, etc. No more sexual orientation and race talk...we're done with this now. We know the answers for what needs to be done. Let's discuss the next stuff now.

So yes...I am better than most people and I am willing to accept this...and it doesn't take much of an imagination to refrain from invoking some kind of slippery slope fallacy that says, "If everyone thought they were better than other people then that will lead to the next Nazi Germany." Lol...no. People just have to transcend.

That's neuroplasticity for ya. Time is your best friend. If you put in the effort, you just have to get better. I'm proving this to myself with piano right now. One thing I like to think about a lot is what skills we have that are associative to another skill we want to develop but don't have yet. I knew how to type. Could that help me in piano? I was really good at GH. Probably a bit more closely connected to the circuitry involved in playing piano...?? hmm maybe. I guess music/piano and a typewriter/keyboard still both involve their respective languages. Close call. But I feared the challenge of piano and eventually just told myself I had the talent to be a good pianist. Now I'm making it happen.

I should be more specific though. I really think pretty much everyone could be "good" at video games especially if they're taught/play and develop skills in multiple genres of games early in life, but there are always going to be people who will be more talented at this thing, or that sport, or xyz ways of thinking, or behaving, etc. Everyone is different.

I mean, anyone who has any decent understanding of biology, psychology, neuroscience, muscles, DNA, etc. would see that life is so complex and diverse that there have to be people who have a genetic predisposition to being good at video games. That being said, nurture plays a role too. Like, perhaps the greataest factors in being good at video games are just in liking them, or already having some proclivity for activities involving tactile stimulation, or requiring dexterous fingers.

The list could go on. Maybe games are more immersive to people who see more colors, etc.

That, in itself is fine. The problem is punishing people for 'bad' behavior creates an Orwellian nightmare.

I suppose the threat of this social credit system is that you effectively are being punished if those rewarded get to, for instance, have a stab at all the good jobs before you can.

Maybe, but we already do things like hire people and promote them based on their social skills and attitude, so how is that any different?

Well it could be worse if the system isn't finely calibrated to take into account preventing hindering anyone's social/financial mobility. It seems that the system has a greater potential to disadvantage and advantage people because it has more dominion over people's money than the system in place now. It's more explicit if someone's a failure so they will have less of a chance to climb the ladder of employment.

The idea of getting credit for social reliability might be a good thing. One could say we basically have the same thing going on with money now, just that the idea that the 'credit' is based on your sociability is not that explicit. Maybe it's best that our currency is considered as a conspicuous extension of social reliability.

@Alphamon Wait, so you're saying if labor is less expensive then the food can be cheaper because these food companies will net more revenue? Then conversely, it must be true that selling more food, and thus netting more revenue, can allow workers to be paid more.

How do we sell more food? Increase minimum wage. As minimum wage has decreased over the last 50 years, adjusted for inflation, I'm certain that other factors are attributable to inflation.

Where could I ask about this on reddit? I didn't want to go to the main Facebook subreddit. More than likely my post won't post because there is always some stipulation that has to be followed and it's likely not the best place for that. askreddit? Or somewhere else?

I only played the demo but it definitely seemed way less polished than RE4 and 5...and it was getting too close to becoming an action game. It's not just about having enemies that are of the traditional horror mold, but also about feeling vulnerable. I should not be that mobile in a survival horror game. But it's not even that. It's mostly that it just felt cheap. If the game were good regardless of genre, I wouldn't complain that much just for veering from its genre. Because I like basically all genres, if it were a good game anyway, I would still really like it. But I don't like it cuz it's cheap af.

You're not just asking for help. You're training yourself to be content with asking for help. This means you're more likely to do this again for another game. You will never feel as rewarded completing the game, or parts of the game if you're just told how to do something or where to go. And you won't really get better at finding / doing things in games if you just get help. You have to struggle a little to get good and really enjoy games with little frustration.

Speed reading is a skill. People that read that fast don't read 1 or even a few words at a time. They dont read outloud in their head. They eyes are literally taking snapshots of several words if not sentences, if not multiple lines at once and their brain is processing it all at once.

I tried learning speed reading once but didn't bother practicing.

It still seems really fast but I suppose it's possible. I'm learning piano now and the other day I sort of had this moment where I realized that my ability to read the notes on the page is slowly changing. I was like more aware of the notes in a greater area or something...like the focal point of my vision was wider in a sense. Or really you could just describe it as my visual attention was effectively being divided into key areas (the notes I need to read).

I wonder if this skill, when developed, will transfer well to reading English.

Is this even possible? I can type 100 wpm if I'm lucky. So he can read 200 times faster than I can type? Hmm....well, it is just TV obviously, but little things like this are usually meant to be at least attainable in the real world.

It's not a challenge for people to understand that the movies are...the movies...and they're bullshit a lot of the time. People don't think Spider-man is real, but they may be likely to overestimate how many people out there are smart enough and capable of achieving something just as astounding as making your own Spider-man suit and web shooters.

People need to work on checking the movies in this sort of way. People use them for a framework, I think, for understanding what cities are like that they haven't been to, and how people should act. I am pretty sure once I saw Steven A Smith doing a very good job emulating how Denzel Washington behaves in some of his movies. This is what the movies do. They teach people how to behave in certain situations. And I think they can skew our model of the world in comparison to how it actually is.
