Accuracy is cool. I think it would be nice to at least allude to the scene. And I just don't like how people try to hide the fact that kids have sex. Besides, the Losers didn't know any better.

It doesn't add anything to the plot and it's weird to want a scene with children running a train on someone to be shown.

No one is asking for child porn if that's what you're thinking. But within the context of the story, didn't the kids link sex with adulthood? They thought it would protect them if It came back. And if anything, it does reinforce the whole "stay together" connection they were going for.

So yeah, it does add to the plot.

I'm assuming Stephen King's creepy pedophile fetish scene didn't make it into the movie

See?

If I assumed other people didn't know about it I would have actually described it so people knew what I was talking about

I bring it up because it's kind of one of the most infamous scenes in the book (for good reason) and I like to make fun of how fucked up it is

But it makes you look cooler if you act like it aint a big deal.

TopicIT Certification vs College Degree

Rika_Furude posted...
IT degrees at university are for if you want to be a programmer or on the management/project management side of things. While you can be self taught in programming, most companies who hire programmers highly value computer science majors because you learn so much more there than you can reasonably self teach yourself

IT certifications are for if you want to go into Networking, Security, Sys Ops, server administration (windows server, vmware, etc), and are highly regarded by companies looking to hire someone in these roles. Im not sure if this is true for all unis but i think any networking degrees at uni is basically the ccna course, but longer and more expensive

Id personally recomend getting a uni degree since it applies for life and you never have to renew, and its a good base for learning everything else. You can always get certs later, businesses are more inclined to pay you to get (as in pay for your training and exams, and pay you while youre away from work) certs due to less time involved, i doubt many companies will pay for your univeristy degree, let alone time off to study a lot over a period of 3-4 years

I didn't know IT had much to do with programming. That's great if it does because I still do want to learn it eventually, but right now I'm just focused on getting some type of leg up on the employment/pay side. That's why I'm seriously considering certs or trade because it's faster and seemingly less stressful. What do you think?

They're completely different professions. An IT certification is gonna get you working for like $40K a year to start, max. A CS degree will get you $60+.

Your question is basically "I'm thinking going to a culinary institute, but that sounds hard. Would it be better to just get a job at Taco Bell?"

Um, I'm not going for CS anymore, can't you read? I'm doing IT because I'm not doing well at math. I'm asking if I should go for certs or degree.

Originally wanted to go for computer science so I might learn programming, but I'm not too sure if I'm cut out for it with all the math. IT seems easy enough and starts off with decent pay.

Please advise.
