I really liked the actor who played that CIA operative. His American accent was impressive.He was great in At The World's End too.

I thought the way they dealt with white people was a little offensive and it obviously wouldn't have flied if the shoe was on the other foot, but I got over it. It didn't really impact my enjoyment of the movie.

CE doesn't understand that one of the only ways to really stop evil like this is by being able to empathize and figure how the perpetrator felt and what they were thinking leading up to such a heinous act. It's nothing to do with condoning or minimizing any actions and everything to do with prevention.

No, I'm not talking about something out of Psychopass. I'm talking about an AI that can take in data from multiple sensors and figure out a basic context for the situation, who's carrying the gun, if they're a police officer, a civilian, or if someone is attempting to use it without authorization, it could pick up on heat signatures, light sources, and have access to databases with troves of information that could help it sort out the situation. With this sort of information it'd be easy to figure out things such as whether or not a civilian is target practicing, hunting an animal, or shooting people.

There's already AI that does way more impressive things than this. It's just an issue of logistics and price, but if the alternative to forcing people to upgrade to weapons like this is to allow mass shootings and homicides to happen at the rate they do now, I'd say it's much better.

I think you hit the nail on the head here.

The whole point of American Psycho is that Bateman became a monster because of how fake and isolating modern society is. There's so many people out there who are starved for human love, care, and affection who become deranged when they've been deprived of it for too long while everyone seemingly goes on with life with all the love and the compassion they could ever want given to them unconditionally.

They see the contrast between their life and others and become bitter and some of them eventually resort to violence to get the care and notice they feel they deserve.

That's just my 2 cents though.
