I've been playing FF4 Free enterprise runs lately, which is an FF4 randomizer. Kain was the hero of my last run, but canonically its Cecil. Either way, I think without Mjolnir it might be a toss-up who wins, but with it, I think Cap has the advantage, since Cecil and Kain don't have magic.

Considering Cecils magic defence? He still wins.

Im just pointing out most people mistakenly believe SSJ makes them as strong as Goku when he fought Frieza, when in reality theyd probably be closer to super farmer with shotgun because the SSJ power in and of itself doesnt make you a certain level of strength. In the Bardock time travel thing Toriyama wrote, Bardock went SSJ against Friezas ancestor and he was no where near as strong as Goku was when he fought Frieza as SSJ. Its a multiplier. And just as 50 times 0 is 0, 50 times a really small number isnt very much.

Without a source of incredible healing like a ton of sensu beans or healing chambers or a Namek with healing powers being a Saiyan isn't going to get you too far in our world.

Meanwhile if you are a Kryptonian you get everything you could possibly want at a ridiculously high level and eventually will get strong enough that interstellar flight is an option available to you.

the only way this will EVER change is if we start paying for these lawsuits from the police pension funds instead of with taxpayer money. or maybe cops should be required to carry liability insurance, similar to doctors.

I've suggested this so many times, people usually push back saying that it would only encourage other cops to cover up the crimes. Thing is, they're already doing that! Maybe if their pensions are at risk you'll see cops actually caring if other cops are doing shit like this.

You'd be surprised how quickly religious people will realign their beliefs on this once they're personally impacted and a viable solution is available to them otherwise.

Read, fam. It's not Elon that is the crux of my point. It's the potential for abuse and making things work that his involvement enables.

The "more breakthroughs the better" is great! In vacuum. You aren't considering downsides. Like, you care about the amount of people that could be helped, correct? Are you okay with only a fraction of those getting help as long as breakthrough pace is optimal?

If the alternative is the tech not existing at all? Yes, I'm fine with that. The tech will start off out of reach of most, this is obvious in the society we live in regardless of which companies are involved.

I'm not going to demand tech advancements hit pause until we get capitalism fixed.

I get what you're saying, but consider that Elon would find a way to take a potential good and fuck people over with it via corpo bullshit. Insulin was supposed to be, and easily could have been, extremely cheap. But corpos got the patent, and for a lot of people it's a fucking paycheck taken just to keep being alive.

So what? Just because things aren't ideal is the world worse off with the invention of insulin? I'd resoundingly say no, it's a much better place with the invention of insulin even if it's entirely too stupidly expensive in the States. Just because Elon is a piece of shit does that mean that human machine interface devices are not worth creating? Of course not. Sure they're going to be terribly monetised for the foreseeable future but the future with them existing is a better future than them not existing at all.
