Honestly he just wants to run Baldurs Gate 3 at 60 FPS and do FFXIV raids without lagging at just standard high def so to me that seems like, more than fine?

I'm actually not asking for myself, just a friend of mine who doesn't want to build one. I get a good deal on Dell as I'm a licensed Dell reseller but I mostly sell business line Optiplex/Latitude stuff-- so I wanted to sanity check whether the Alienware stuff was actually any good yet. The answer seems "better but still maybe not quite there yet even among pre-built stuff"

It's good. I really think the mobility and level design in Mega Man X games are better suited to be played by Zero though. I'll take all of the better Mega Man classic games over this.

I personally always went AMD when I built stuff but never had an issue with Intel so I'm not gonna think that's a deal breaker.

How is that out of the box? It looks decent and like it'd be able to game pretty well? Is there something better from Lenovo or someone else? I've did some brief reddit snooping and it seems like the alienware PCs are thought to be decent value now? Or is this wrong?

I've done some weird video game challenge runs to the extent I could have created speed run categories for them that maybe no one else has really done?

Like I used to play Richter Mode full clear no health pickups no item crashes in Symphony of the Night a lot. Is there some nut who has done it more? Maybe but... maybe not cause it's kind of a very specific way to play? I'm sure there are even more niche video game things I've done regularly too but I'd have to dig around in my head a bit to think of one I'd logged a lot of time into that is sufficiently niche.

Honestly really really good. The units are bulky which to elitists makes it "easier" but it has some interesting depth in the upkeep and hero systems. I've had a ton of fun with it. I think as a 2v2 game, which is the majority of my playtime doing that with a buddy on ladder, it's straight up better than Starcraft too. The less breakneck speed in how the battles unfold just makes it more satisfying to play in that way.

Yeah

Wind Waker it just felt like a gimmick. The overall artistic direction didn't really feel like it used it well, especially when you had games coming out around the same time like Viewtiful Joe and Tales of Symphonia using it better. To say nothing of the games like Okami later that really made it seem awesome.

Halo honestly

Thought FPS games were just kinda bad up till that point aside from OG Doom being ok (had only played console stuff) so had ZERO interest because I also didn't find the style very appealing either.

And then I actually played it with some friends in system link play multiplayer, got my ass kicked repeatedly cause I was the onlg one who didn't know how to play, and it was like "holy crap this is awesome"

Depends on the why really but yes generally I won't be friends with people who are really far off with me on certain issues. I do think there's nuance on a lot of stuff though. There are certain pro human rights people in here that wouldn't be my friend I'm sure despite self-identifying as very pro human rights.

That match, without exaggeration, is the reason I'm on this board today. I remembered seeing this awesome upset as it was happening, rapidly refreshing near poll's end and being like "I wonder how the message board is reacting to this" and the rest is as they say, history. It might be my favorite match of all time just for that.

Nah it's not me. I'm closer to this topic on most things generally these days.
