Trinity Trigger is a ripo- I mean, tribute to Secret of Mana but somehow manages to get everything about it wrong. It's also not really built for single player - to get the best experience you probably have to play co-op, because the AI for your party members won't use specials unless you switch to them, and they frequently get trapped running into walls during boss fights all the time. If I counted how many times this happened in a boss fight, it would probably be around a hundred - you pretty much had to enter every boss fight with a full pack of healing items and hope they survived. The story is basically a copy and paste of every generic JRPG ever, and they even lampshade the inconsistency of how a desert and a snow area are next to each other on the map (that part was actually funny though). There's also the annoyance of having multiple weapons for each character that share nothing - you have to upgrade each individual weapon and outfit them appropriately and there's just not enough of a reason to do so because the game is so short and there isn't enough resources unless you grind a lot. I mostly just kept each character with their default weapon for the entire game.

I will say though that it's a short game and definitely doesn't overstay its welcome, the battle system (for the character you control) is still very good, and the English voice cast does an excellent job. The latter is a usual from most XSEED titles like this one, but it's always nice to see.

Haar is great. Best dracoknight in the series, especially in Radiant Dawn which gives him a lot more additional levels.

Just need to get more people on the board to play Genealogy though

I am very disappointed that Wise didn't welcome me back to the game after I didn't log in for two weeks. I guess they needed to make a new video since they're now at the temple and they just didn't bother
