Colossal Cave Adventure feels like the kind of game that would have had a sequel at some point along the way. I'm amazed it never did. And this version's being developed by Roberta Williams?

Combat Two sounds like the king of vaporware. I'm surprised with all the junk Atari produced in the mid-80s that they wouldn't follow through with the sequel to one of their most signature games. (For home console, I mean.)

So just when I thought 37 might take it, y'all go and drop two titles that are a decade longer. For a second, I thought Pong -> Qomp might surpass that at 49, but there are already official pong sequels. Quite a few, actually. They just aren't called "Pong 2."

What, then, is the oldest game to never receive a sequel? And do we try to preclude games with blatantly derivative titles from other companies, or is that too nebulous to define? (Spacewar! was cloned numerous times throughout the 70s, i.e., including an Atari game legit called Space War.)

Having 4 rolls (or 3 depending on interpretation) in CD for an on-set CR circlet if always good considering you're trying to hit exactly one substat. Even if you start with 4 subs, assuming equal distribution, that will only happen 0.97% of the time. And even less for a 3-stat artifact. Also, I generally think of CD rolls as wanting to average at least 7%, which this one does np, so you didn't low-roll them, either.

I don't ever plan to do the farming achievements. You could convince me of the rest -- even the fishing. Technically I'm already a pretty good chunk of the way to 2000 just from incidental gameplay.

First 3 are indisputable. The fourth is a flex choice, but in terms of its importance in rebooting the genre -- even though I know there are many who say CS isn't technically a metroidvania -- and kickstarting the contemporary indie scene, it's probably the most Rushmore-worthy.

HM to Ori, Metroid Prime, and to many not-quite-Metroidvanias that people will inevitably try to include in the discussion like Dark Souls.

Sara is really awkward to use, especially before C2, however her whole thing is that she applies a lesser version of Bennett's buff. Because it only lasts for 4 seconds, though, you really need to immediately use it on one quick strike ability or something that snapshots. Raiden is currently the only electro character who really has a hypercarry team that would justify this usage. And, of course, it has to be electro because she provides a damage bonus and, at C6, a crit damage buff to electro.

Man, you guys aren't even trying any more. It's not unreasonable it shows up before December. No release date, sure, but there have been a few signs that at least it's not vaporware. If you want an unreleased indie to swoop down and sweep the awards, that's your candidate...hopium or not.

I find it wild we're even having this conversation about Balatro. The game is enjoyable, but it takes some serious alternate universe nonsense to be considering it for game of the year. With the hype I've seen around it in the last week, wouldn't be surprised if Animal Well is favored instead.

Performed a bit of oceanic genocide for the second straight day. Still haven't bothered to complete the new area. Just doing bits and pieces of it in lieu of commissions. If there isn't something to look forward to in terms of content next patch, it's going to be very dead for me. I already drained as much of my bank account on Project 9/9/9 as I dare to, and this current batch of artifacts is not remotely exciting to farm.

Well, we know he can punk Childe easily enough, who was able to hold the narwhal at bay for some stupid length of time. Beyond that, hard to say. In non-combat he did...the thing at the end of the archon quest, but otherwise we don't really have a read beyond reasonable guesses.

Dude, if that goblet is on-set, it's amazing. Getting almost 40 CR with one usable other sub is fantastic. Hitting 4/4 valuable subs just doesn't happen. I think I have like 5 total pieces like that in 3+ years of Genshin.

Appreciate your effort here, and I'm willing to accept whatever the majority think is the optimal version of the song, but I prefer the original. Maybe I'm alone on this one because I don't notice the audio problems others have with songs, but (A) has qualities that (C) is missing. Cutting the synth at the beginning feels empty, and while I could see a case for wanting to leave out the sax sforzando on beat 1, it just declares the start of the song for me. After hearing the song a bunch now, the beginning doesn't even feel out of place to me any more.

Cities: Skylines, but the industrial buildings generate 1000x the pollution.

Probably can never get anyone to work there, and the city can never take off.

Now think of something subtle in that game's code that would be numeric in nature relating to the graphics, physics, or game effects. Nothing the player directly sees on a stats sheet.

Multiply it by 1000. What happens?
