Root Double is mostly very good. One route is badly paced, but all the others are great. Start with the A route if you do play it. You will probably need a guide to get all the endings and progress in certain points.

Finally did the five trophies for clearing each Notorious Hunt at max level and finishing with full health, though having Miyabi/Caesar/Astra made it pretty easy. On to the next patch!

Most of these aren't horror.

For one that isn't on the list, Spirit Hunter is a good horror VN that I enjoyed.

And that's a wrap for Yoko Taro's card game trilogy RPG series. I enjoyed all three of them - all of them have some slightly darker themes which makes sense. They are all basic turn-based RPGs though and are fairly slow, even with the high-speed mode on. The narrator provides a lot of good commentary like you're actually playing a D&D like game and it works fairly well. However, this game unlike the others suffers a bit from its skill system which is much different - you get most skills from random drops from enemies, which makes it a pain to actually get useful skills for all four of your playable characters. While I was fine with attack and support skills, I never did get a useful healing skill so I mainly had to rely on items, especially against the bonus boss where I burned through about 20 of the party healing items. Luckily, you'll get a lot of those fighting the much weaker other bonus boss multiple times to get to max level.

I never played any of the fan translation, so AAI2 was all new to me. The highlight is E2-3 obviously, but I think the first four cases are all well done, but they have a lot of unanswered questions and it makes E2-5 kind of collapse under its own weight. Just takes too long and has too many things to reveal. It's still good, but it's another Ace Attorney game we didn't get originally that doesn't have a satisfying ending, to me at least. So it only makes sense that it ends up next to that other game in my ranking.

Astro Bot (PS5)

I do not understand what most people see in this game - for me, I just end up frustrated and bored when I was playing through it (which is kind of why it took so long overall). I probably will not go back and collect all the bots or finish the new DLC (I did the Christmas and time trial ones) since I really don't care enough to do so.

Finally managed to play through the Edgeworth collection, and it was a pretty fun time! The latter half, at least. I remembered AAI1 not being that good when I played it, and I was right. It can stay in the bottom tier with GAA1 and AJ.
