Anthropogenic climate change, despite what the GQP are claiming, is not even close to a religion. It is backed by decades' worth of hard study and data that's as close to concrete as it's possible to get without being able to get without having access to a duplicate Earth untouched by man.

The ones that involve forcing women, LGBTQ+ people, non-whites, and non-Christians out of the hobby/fandom. Those actually do significant amounts of harm, even beyond the scope of the hobby/fandom itself.

This is what happens when companies' primary way of making money is by enticing investors to buy in, rather than making products that people actually want to pay for. Hardly anybody wants to buy games that prioritize corporate buzzwords like "always-on", "live service", and "NFT" over good (hell, even just functional at this point) gameplay, and the developers know it, but publishers have been pushing them regardless and forcing devs to go along with their insane demands because that's what gives potential investors a chub.

So the lesson here is "don't be Snoop Dogg". Got it.

I thought the common thought online was that we'd be lucky to see 2028, given that the GOP is going all-or-nothing on warping the US into a Christofascist hellhole and is more than willing to lie and cheat their way to absolute power in order to do it.

Didn't Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII have something similar to this? I'm not sure how well it'd go with the player base, considering sidequests and grinding are a thing and I'm sure this wouldn't include some way to slow time or restart the cycle like in Majora's Mask.

Can I sacrifice the money to instead be allowed to push whoever I want into the spring of my choice as and when I feel like it? I'm thinking of pushing the entire Republican Party into the piglet one and then "donating" them to a farm animal rescue, or perhaps I should force the likes of Graham Linehan and J.K. Rowling into the springs that directly oppose their gender identities and then see how they feel about having to live their lives in the wrong bodies (at least until they take hot showers, anyway). Conversely, I could also help the trans folks out in a way that doesn't involve sadism toward people who absolutely deserve it by guiding them to springs that match their gender identities.

Meh. The problem is that everything else being jacked up in price by our all-powerful, all-consuming corporate overlords has made it so that folks' wallets are getting tighter and tighter, and thus blowing $60-70 on a video game has become much more of a daunting prospect than it used to be, especially if the game in question isn't very long or the asking price is just for the base game alone rather than a GOTY bundle with all the DLC. If you can't afford to blow that cash on a game without dipping into what you're already setting aside for your basic necessities, you're probably going to think the publishers are nuts for demanding it of you.

I use the hard g pronunciation, but only because I don't want anyone getting confused and thinking I'm suddenly talking about peanut butter for some fucking reason, because then I'll have to waste time correcting them. If Jif wasn't a thing, I'd absolutely be using the soft g pronunciation.
