When enough people die to climate disasters and water wars, reducing our overall carbon emissions just enough that the world can start to cool again, the survivors might have a shot. Give them another 500 years and well be right back to this point though.

It would take quite some doing to actually send humanity extinct, but the current global scope of humanity is unsustainable and will see massive die offs.

Millennials might be the last generation with a chance at a decent old age.

Nah. I'm pretty sure that we'll stupid ourselves into extinction (or at least, back to the Stone Age) pretty soon. Maybe as early as next year, if Trump "wins" this year's election and decides he wants to start a war against NATO with his Russian pals ASAP.

you're out of your mind if you think dark ages arent very fucking real and very fucking common in history.

in rome, fashion, science, art, went virtually unchanged for 1000 years as money was spent on golden statues and the empire descended into corruption, ignorance, and Christianity.

in ancient mycenae they just fucking forgot how to fucking read. lost 1000 years of knowledge.

we're headed for the same thing.

but this time it'll be 1000 years of increasingly-bad marvel movies and an ever-changing cast of mercurial-but-powerful corporations.

people will rely on AI and old code, and they'll forget how to do things. corporations will work to keep library and database access as pain-in-the-ass as possible, promoting subscription services for everything.

the rate of computer processing will slow down. pipe dreams like quantum computers are already refuted, but less and less funding will be spent on abstract physics. physics majors are already slashed across the last decade and the physicists we have arent as good at engineering or math as the ones we had last century. computers will simply not get more powerful. the playstation 6 is just a playstation 5 is just a playstation 4.

global warming will irreversibly kill off most of the insect and fuck everything up. future generations wont see butterflies, honeybees, or have nice seasons. nature and climate will be worse.

eventually the problem will get so bad that most resources will have to be diverted to prevent mass deaths. this takes away energy from everything else and life becomes a survival test.

once that is solved, planet starts to heal in a few hundred years, we've gone 500-600 years and still haven't really progressed that much passed 2024. at times, certain populations, including women, are even worse off than they are now. the future looks back at 1990-2010 and wishes we could have got our shit together.

unfortunately, in our quest to save the planet, the process we used needed helium. or palladium. or gold. and we literally used 100% of that element and it's just fucking gone. or we don't have that much.

no one's gone to space for 300 years that was wasteful, even if we wanted to leave the solar system, no one would know how.

the Great Solar Flare wiped out all the computers in 2275, and all the old storage media from those days has decayed.

All of thats fine but in return a few hundred people are getting richer off the work of others. You have to take the bad with the good.

I see him losing. He doesnt have the freak confluence of events around him to lead him to victory like in 2016.

I think this is why they are pushing so hard for robots/AI.

I hope you're right about this, for all our sakes. I guarantee you that if Trump (or if not him this year, then a future Republican somewhere down the line) worms his way back into the Oval Office, humanity's not going to survive what Project 2025 does to the US and the world at large, and I'm not sure we'd want to.

Eh...

While it's true that large events in America have a knock on effect to much of the rest of the world, it's a stretch to suggest Project 2025 would cripple or destroy humanity as a whole. That would require the US to take the next step and actually start a campaign of world domination, and that didn't go so well for the original Nazis when they tried it. Plenty of countries in the meantime have the ability to tell the US to kiss their ass. That's probably when China will make its move.

Project 2025 absolutely must never be allowed to happen, of course. Hell, the GOP should never be allowed to take office again period.
