i was watching elegant play a pichu player i've never heard of. there's obviously a difference in skill level, elegant was styling on him and trying to go for the taunt on ledge. when the first 2 games were over, it showed elegant on camera, and he was eating something during the game. wtf lmao.

I personally am a content creator. recently hit 1000 subscribers. When I first started doing it, I didn't really know what I wanted to make videos about. I just wanted to do something gaming related, but I slowly transitioned into a certain role because my audience wanted that. Originally I was doing game reviews, but my videos started to become more educational and my audience was really enjoying those ones. So there, I found a niche. Not completely original, but it's still a niche. If you're not sure what to make videos about yet, just make a few videos about something you like.

Try not to look at the glass half empty. Remember that even just one comment on your video, means that someone took time out of their day to watch your video. If your video gets 80 views, that means 80 people literally watched your video. Imagine 80 people at a house party, that would be one of the most Kick-Ass parties ever. Going back to that one comment. Maybe that particular person likes certain type of videos. Listening to your audience will only make your channel grow even more.

You ever found clickbait thumbnails, fake personalities and people asking the audience to subscribe kind of annoying? Well, if you want to be successful, chances are you're going to have to do those things. Although they're annoying, they work. At the end of the day, people can talk about how frustrated they are that people resort to cheap tricks to make their videos popular, but it doesn't matter. They work.

The one important thing, advertising your YouTube to family and friends isn't a bad option. It gets the word out there, but from my experiences it doesn't get you very far. I very rarely show my videos to my family and friends. Most of my friends are not huge gamers, and I know that showing my videos to them will either make them feel obligated to watch it (and most likely not enjoy it) or ignore the video. This will probably apply to 90% of people with YouTube accounts. My way of advertising is if I just putting it on YouTube, and making sure my video has the right thumbnail, talks about a trending topic (in most cases, etc. I know there are retro gamers out there who are nerdy like I am, I just got to find them. And I think YouTube has tons of them.

Anyway, I only have a thousand subscribers. it's not like I have a million subscribers or anything. Take this as a grain of salt lol.

it's a chromebook. did a powerwash and refresh on it. no luck. checked the setting to see if there were any disabled or sticky keys. nope.

unscrewed it, cleaned the inside of the keys. still does not work.

no one sells replacement keyboards for the make/model that i have.

well fuck, guess i'm either using an external keyboard or throwing it away. whatever, it's a chromebook that was given to me.

I just got back, and you are absolutely right. I do feel good about going.

I have three cavities, but the doctor was not concerned as much about them as he did with two major issues

1. That broken tooth I mentioned before is going to have to be pulled, like I thought. The doctor said he is going to see if my wisdom tooth can be used in that spot. Otherwise an implant is going to be used.
2. I need braces. My "bite" is not proper, and it has caused damage and decay on some of my teeth. I have a follow-up appointment on the 18th.

He actually complimented my teeth, and said I seem to take take good care of them. Overall, it went much better than I thought it would.

at the doctor's right now in the waiting room. damn I'm nervous as hell.

I'm gonna focus on tooth health first, money last. I'd rather save my teeth than have them pulled for money reasons. It I also dunno what the bill would look like, or if my insurance will cover it or not (it should be covered, bit haven't looked at my insurance with a microscope).

One was a completely dead tooth. It had actually broken in half like a year before and didn't even hurt. The other was one of my back teeth. The wisdom tooth on that side came in completely sideways and just completely fucked it up. Only the broken tooth was one of my front teeth, but "luckily" you can't see it when I smile because I have a massive overbite.

They offered to pull the others instead of the root canals, but I chose to do the root canal for the looks. It cost me a shitload more money though.

wouldn't be surprised if mine is dead too. my broken tooth hurt like hell when it first happened. but now it doesn't hurt at all. pretty sure that one is going to be pulled. that particular tooth you can't see when i smile, but still sucks. would rather not have to get anything pulled, but that's prolly gonna happen.

Hopefully all you need will be some filings and maybe some antibacterial treatments if you have deep pockets. Still, that won't come free.

Regularly visiting a dentist for cleanings will save you a lot in the long run.

If it eases your mind any, I was in pretty much the same situation. I had to get two or three root canals, a half dozen fillings, and two pulled, but I still have most of my teeth.

nice. question about the pulled teeth. were they just in bad shape? was anything put there as a replacement, or is there just a gap? can you see those gaps when you smile?

yeah, that is the reason i never went. it's always a grind to not be broke, so i simply could never afford super expensive insurance. but now that i got a raise at work and i'm working more hours, i can finally do it.

been procrastinating on this for years. had a broken tooth about a year ago. i have at least a few cavities. also i have at least 2 or 3 teeth that have chipped over the years. my fault, i take ownership for it. no excuses.

with that said, i think my teeth actually look pretty decent when i smile.

the one thing i'm afraid of: the dentist is gonna say my teeth are beyond repair and recommend me to have them all pulled out. that's what happened with my mom, she took even worse care of her teeth than me. hopefully that doesn't happen with me. but if it does, i'm gonna be a 29 year old with dentures lmao.

I dont care. It kind of kills the idea of being based on CE though. Seems kind of derivative to me to have gamefaqscurrentevents on Reddit or CE Smash on Discord, whatever it is. I really dont mind the forums.

Good point. Having a CE discord might be good if we want to refer someone to our tiny community that doesn't have a gamefaqs account. PattyMelt is a good example. He tried using gamefaqs but didn't like it. So there could be times he wants to play but is unable to because he doesn't have a platform to speak to us on. I also thought about having some friends from the uni play in the CE arenas (we would kick their asses tbh).

On the flip side, I know some people on here don't use discord at all. Ace deleted his account I believe, and Xenophon doesn't use his. If we all were active on discord, it would be an easy yes, but I feel like either way there's some benefits and some downsides.

While we're discussing mains, I've been caught up in a dilemma the last few months.

So I main Banjo and Min-Min, but my third had been Dedede for a while. Everyone knows I sure characters around a lot, so I've been trying to settle on a solid third. I've gotten pretty good with G&W, but then I feel I'm also really good with K.Rool, and I've been messing with Isabelle lately too... But then I also still have a decent Yoshi from maining him in the past?

G&W is probably the best of that handful of characters, right? I like them all, but for the purpose of improving, would he probably the best to try and play more for a side main?

i personally main yoshi for many reasons. he is always the character i select in mario party and mario kart games, i like his airspeed and floatiness, he's easy to pickup for a novice player like myself, he covers most of my weaknesses as a player (unlike donkey kong) and i overall have better results with him.

a few things to consider

• what's your playstyle and who fits that the best?
• who do you enjoy playing as the most? whether that has to do with winning or not
• just because someone else uses the character doesn't mean you can't. i remember you saying once that DDD was no longer your main because rideshort was using him IIRC
• also, just because the character has cheese doesn't mean he shouldn't be your main. yes I'm talking about banjo lol.
• if it were a life or death situation and you had to absolutely beat someone, who would you use?

I beat the best player's G&W at the uni. Great win, all because I went for Side B, rising fair and rest. Had to go for it, I was behind. Hell yes. Otherwise he won a majority of the games.

Great player, but I do think he's beatable. 40Kal and ant have better G&W's, and Edge has a better Rob. So I'm already surrounded by the best.

How do y'all feel about Wolf mains? Been trying out new characters lately because Ganon sucks (in the best way), and unfortunately I've landed on what I feel is a very basic main. I think it's the relative simplicity that attracts me (and many others) to him. Everything he does pretty much works exactly as expected, and execution isn't as difficult as other good characters.

Play who you want to play :) If you like playing him, or he fits your playstyle, then he's a great man for you.
