this guy in our smash club is a decent player. i beat him every time, but we had a close game (yoshi vs his bowser). him and i were just fucking around lol, but he beat me in that particular game (which is fine), but then he said "i like playing against you, we have similar skill levels"

i said "yeah i agree..." but in my head i thought "naw, i'm way better" lol

namco has tried to keep Pac-Man relevant, especially with the Pac-Man and the ghostly adventures (or whatever it's called) games, but it never worked out the way they wanted it to. Seems like Pac-Man will always just be that "Waka Waka" guy from the 80s

I like to think I've had some decent acquaintances or friends at previous jobs, but whenever I leave that job (or when they leave), we never keep contact.

One exception is this dude Mike that I used to work with, who is cool as shit and him and I still text once in awhile. One of these days I'll ask if he wants to grab a drink or something.

Have you guys ever kept contact with previous coworkers even after they leave?

I mean I've beaten him on a fair number of occasions as Banjo. He ain't unbeatable lol. It's just a matter of getting a good matchup against DK I guess lol.

I've beat him a couple times with Yoshi, and once with DK. I usually don't keep track of wins, but against the player like mrfacedude I have to hold on to small victories haha. He still beats me 99% of the time though.

I played him in one of PIOverlord tournament where he gave out a gift card to the winner, he played DK. I came in 2nd, losing to him. I don't remember too much but I don't think he was better than Mr. Face but that was a while back.

Well, I recall the first time was just a stroke of luck I think. He really doesn't pop up much on CE, and I think I @'ed him for the 2nd one since it wouldn't make sense to not invite the defending champion.

The first one's topic is lost to time. If you look on... "that site" it happened during the period that all those topics got deleted (only the names of them are up but none of the posts). The 2nd one didn't draw many in; I think only 4 people showed up officially even though many said they wanted to. Just a lot of people that dropped out at the last second unfortunately. 7NATOR still went 12-0, though, so he earned it.

Interesting, never heard of him. He certainly has never played with us on CE, maybe he's from the smash board like you said. Since he won twice in a row, he must be some kind of smash god. Do you have the brackets from last year or the year before? Just curious.

I picked up a Sega Dreamcast a few years ago, I personally don't use it at all. A lot of games for the Dreamcast ended up being remade for different platforms, like the Sonic adventure games for example. I'm sure there are other exclusive games that are worth it, but I'm not aware of too many of them. If you're a big Sega Fanboy or collector, it's definitely worth it, but otherwise I don't think so.

Like, I fucking know. I have ublock origin on my PC, but there's currently no way to block ads on TVs which is where my wife and I watch 90% of YouTube now.

@TC, yes YouTube ads have been wayyyy worse for me since the beginning of the summer. I think I read that YouTube announced that they're going to ramping up advertisements starting in 2021. Probably because they are trying to push YouTube premium more now. It sucks though. So many unskippable ads, ughhh.

Yeah I think you might be screwed on the tv thing. I personally have Android tv, and as far as I know, there's no way to block ads on YouTube. Since it's android, it makes me wonder if AdAway or YouTube Vanced works on there. But not only do I highly doubt they work, but I'm just not familiar enough with Android TV to play around with it that much.

I personally have AT&T because their prepaid plans are superior. Their prepaid plans actually have the same data priority as postpaid. Verizon has lower priority data on their prepaid network. So you get more for less on AT&T.

1 or 2 wifi tournaments on occasion is gonna be fine. at the time, i was signing up for a shit ton of wifi tournaments, nearly every day. it was mentally draining. but i have poor level mental health, so you will probably take it better than i.

i would, but online tournaments were manually draining for me, i can't handle it. i literally quit the game 9 months ago because of how poorly i took a loss in one of the tournaments i was in.

Rob is really good in this game for sure. I've been playing him since Brawl so I've had years of training. He was pretty meh in Brawl and Smash 4 so I'm glad he has more potential this time around.

I was one of the top ROB players in SoCal at one point in Smash 4 as well. Used to go to a ton of tournaments so I've had experience playing against top notch players like Larry Lurr.

tbh i didn't know that.

i never complain about characters, because when a character feels broken, it's because the player is using them extremely well. are some characters better than others? absolutely. but it takes a phenomenal player to showcase the character's strengths.

you are definitely the best rob i've ever played, you utilize him almost to a TAS level tbh (that's a compliment if you dunno what TASes are lol). there's a kid at my uni who uses rob, and he is commonly regarded as the best player in our group, but i think you're a lot better honestly. didn't know you were a top rob and definitely didn't know you played larry lurr. did you kick his ass? lol.

I've got a $25 Black & Decker.

I'm not a daily coffee drinker though. I'll use it once or twice a week at most. I'd probably get a better one if I made coffee more often, but a cheap one works just fine for me.

i also only drink coffee a couple times a week. feels more euphoric when i drink it less often.
