You taking my statement to the absolute literal intention instead of the spirit of the message (That is, thinking I'm saying no one ignores trolls ever instead of saying that ignoring trolls is less effective than people say it is) leads me to believe you're being willfully ignorant, or that you sincerely are not equipped to deal with this subject.

But to bounce off AceMos for a moment. I had bullies in school. I tried ignoring them, it didn't work. I also asked them to stop, and it didn't work either.

What worked was me physically hurting the bully, or threatening bodily harm.

Except you really can't do that as an adult without concequences, and even if you could it's not a practical thing to attempt for online bullies.

Thus, calling them out in public is an option if there are more than just a few of them. The more people who let it be known such behavior isn't acceptable, the better.

The whole 'Just ignore trolls!' thing hasn't really been a thing for a while now.
