I think it would be interesting if Konami implemented special formats based on rarity, eg one where you can only play normals, or only up to rares. I'd like to see what the meta turns into when all staples and archetype playmakers are banned.

It was nice of them to have the Ash Blossom bundle, but in general, if Konami wanted to make this game more approachable for oldheads they shouldn't have made every hand trap UR. The whales are already gonna spend buttloads on gems either way, gatekeeping the 'you still get to play Yugioh' cards seems like an error in the longterm.

It's been almost two years since I watched the meta. Is the strategy for going against Adamancipator still "pray"?

Couldn't get through the tutorial of the first one when the AI shrimp lady started twerking in the guy's dream and then you had to make her suck potted plants into her nose and shit. The whole sequence ranged from annoying to uncomfortable and was played for laughs and amounts to a tonal 180 from the zero escape series.

@SydneySweenHero They're not exactly meta but they do have this card called Ancient Gear Fortress which stops them from being targeted by your opponents' effects and also makes all Ancient Gear effects speed-4 (ie your opponent can't chain to them at all making your plays un-counter-able). Ancient Gear Wyvern can search it and all other AG support cards.

Their focus is to summon something like Megaton Golem that can attack multiple times and wipe out your opponent in a one turn kill.

No, V is new in this, and I believe it doesn't tell you this outright. I played pretty much the whole game without knowing.

"Ethics" is already such a rocky term due to just being what society (AKA the elites) say is OK but half the time the professor conflates morals and ethics too

Anyway as long as there incentive to behave 'unethically' people will do it, that's a basic conclusion of Friedman's work, unethical enterprises will outperform ones that are concerned with ethics over profit.

I miss my cat he's three hours away. When you lay down he will jump on the bed and walk right on top of you. Then after standing for way too long on your pressure points, he will ragdoll-flop over basically expecting you to catch him from rolling off. I think he finds it fun.

A turn 2 response can be pretty fun, getting ROFLstomped after turn 1 generally means to me that I started with a shit hand, if I built a good board and they plowed through it then that's a good game whether or not I lose

Would you guys rather go first and then get OTK'd or go second but have your opponent set up a "Don't play" board?

I like to:
1) Go first
2) Set up pendulum scales
3) extra deck summon ez floodgates like Abyss Walker
Then with the floodgate my opponent has a weaker turn 2 and on turn 3 I consolidate and go harder

Well let's unpack this.
1) For a lot of decks, setting a monster in face down defense is practically admitting defeat. You expend a resource warding off a single attack or destruction effect. Even a basic tuner deck like you appear to be running, with some staples and the right extra deck monsters, could melt 8k life points in 1 turn (or equivalently set up an unbreakable board and win the following turn) when that little resistance is going on.

2) Trap cards have a weird place in the modern meta. Some decks run as few as 0. That's because they have two intrinsic disadvantages: you can't use most of them if your opponent goes first and sets up, and they're vulnerable on your field as you wait for the conditions to activate them.

Battle traps like Mirror Force are basically dead. By the time your opponent is at battle phase they've built a board and likely either destroyed your face down or can negate it.

Some modern trap cards can be activated from the hand, like Infinite Impermanence or Evenly Matched. There's also a subset of monster cards that can activate from your hand on your opponent's turn, like Ash Blossom, which have helped make trap cards less used.

Floodgate cards that present certain cards from being used are situationally very strong, and in addition a lot of archetypes have trap cards that can do stuff like activate from the GY to offset their slowness.

I'm happy about the OCG list but one thing I'm not happy about is True King of All Calamities being playable, it's so cheap that his effect lingers after removing him. It's almost as good as skipping your opponent's turn.

Like, I don't have a problem with single omni-negates like Crystal Wing, the person controlling it has to think carefully about what cards their opponent may be using and try to figure out the best time to interrupt, and the opponent can use that fact to bait out a poor use. But True King just turns off your opponent's field for their whole turn.

Since I play pendulums it's not so bad but the thing is the decks that True King can most easily shut down are going to be decks with a lot of interactivity on the field and with the opponent, while having less effect on people playing solitaire with their deck and GY.

BUT, it does contain directions that if followed will lead you to the room the painting is currently being showcased in. Although, that room may change in the future, and if it does, the directions won't adjust so you won't be able to find it anymore, since the directions were written with ink.
