I still won't touch the main arena, but I'm kinda half-trying this new arena by putting it on auto for the 6 battles a day you get. I was able to get through the E4 without losing anybody, but Cynthia was too strong. I probably could have gotten through if I used Bronzong as a defensive option, but I didn't feel like grinding it up. The Elite Four and Cynthia are a huge difficulty spike compared to the rest of the game. Their Pokemon all have great movesets, perfect IV's, and beneficial natures, plus Cynthia's Pokemon are even fully EV trained as well. She's practically fielding a full, perfectly raised competitive team against people's in-game Pokemon that are almost certainly far from perfect. During my normal playthrough, I was only able to beat Cynthia once I realized that her Milotic literally couldn't touch my Toxicroak thanks to Dry Skin and I was able to max out using Swords Dance with no trouble. --- ''Someday I too will fly... and find you again!'' https://imgur.com/PfJxO7u |

So far I caught my Kricketot (Impish nature, not optimal but still pretty good) and raised it to level 10 to evolve it to Kricketune, then taught it Rock Smash with the TM you get in Oreburgh cave and used it to beat Roark's gym to get the first badge. I considered holding off on evolving it until it learned Bug Bite at level 16, but that would be an annoying grind to make as a Kricketot and Fury Cutter is decent enough until it learns X-Scissor later. The game also randomly decided to give my Kricketune the Pokerus, so I pulled my starter Piplup out of the PC, passed Pokerus to it, and then put it right back into the box to preserve that beneficial status condition until Home support is added and I can transfer it to my main file. I thought dataminers could somehow figure out literally everything about a game, glitches included? Glitches like this are usually born from unintended oversights. If you click "details" next to it, it shows you every trainer in the game that has one so you can see it to complete the Sinnoh Pokedex. I believe it's the only non-legendary Pokemon in the game that no trainer ever uses. KFHEWUI posted... I feel like in the OG games you could basically just toss a Quick Ball at it and catch it on the first try more often than not and if that didn't work you just chucked Dusk Balls until one of them did. According to Serebii, Dialga and Palkia had a catch rate of 30 back in the original D/P but it was lowered to 3 (the "standard" catch rate for legendaries) in OR/AS and that carried over to this game. The catch rate being higher in the originals makes sense because you're forced to fight them to progress the story, but the whole "if you don't catch a legendary, it'll respawn after you beat the Elite Four again" thing wasn't added until Platinum. KFHEWUI posted... You have to complete the Pokdex to access Ramanas Park? UGH..... You need to see (not catch, just see) all 150 Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex, then talk to Professor Rowan and get the National Dex. Getting that unlocks most of the postgame stuff, including Ramanas Park and a bunch of new Pokemon in the Underground. Makoto's ability to shred enemy defenses is amazing and why she was priority #1 for re-rolling when the game first came out. This applies for story bosses, dungeon bosses, clan battle bosses, just about any kind of boss you could imagine. Plus, it even stacks with similar debuffs (Christina applies the same debuff btw) making bosses even more easy to shred through. For normal story mode stages without a boss battle, it's more debatable. She can only lower one enemy's defense at a time, so against crowds of multiple enemies, she loses some of her value. Mitsuki acts as a similar debuffer and can lower the defense of multiple enemies at once, but she's not as strong herself as Makoto is. That's a shame, but it's not surprising. As soon as Tales Of Luminaria was announced, everyone pretty much knew that Crestoria (at least the global version) was a dead game walking based on how Bandai Namco has handled past Tales mobile games. I'd be really surprised if they also killed off the JP version of Crestoria though, since Asteria and Rays still have their JP versions alive even long after the global versions were shut down. Next up is dealing with Team Galactic's bullshit at Lake Valor. Infernape Lv41 Roserade Lv40 Toxicroak Lv40 Magneton Lv40 Pelipper Lv40 Absol Lv39 I was slightly tempted to replace Toxicroak due to its type overlaps with Infernape and Roserade, but it and Pelipper make such a great team when I end up in a double battle. Pelipper brings rain with Drizzle and attacks both opponents with Surf, and that same Surf heals Toxicroak thanks to Dry Skin. I also got Croagunk a few extra levels training alongside Wingull because it's the only unevolved member of my team but it's getting close.
