Been a while since I watched it, but did any of the relationships last besides Korea and Asami? (If that was the girls name)

I guess Korra, though I'd still say that complaints about the lesbian twist at the end did have a bit of merit as it did feel like it was shoehorned in more than naturally developed. Felt very much like a last minute ending idea versus something that they were building to. If I'm being honest, even Korra and Bolin had more build-up as a potential relationship than Korra and Asami, and note that I'm not advocating for the former nor do I think that would've been a good thing to end on.

That being said, being upset about it was pretty nonsensical. Plenty of shows have had two main characters hooking up in a straight relationship because they survived a traumatic experience without anyone batting an eye, after all. Two attractive mains decide to randomly hook up? Sounds pretty obvious when put just like that, after all.

Fair. It goes the other way around, too. Just because "it breaks the lore" and "character didn't do what I wanted them to do" are the best arguments against a movie, doesn't mean it's a good movie.

If it was such a terrible movie, nearly all of the criticisms against it wouldn't be totally invalid, if not irrelevant or completely debunked, before you sink to the depths of complaining about diversity.

Anyways I kind of wonder if people downplay the importance of representation because they don't like to admit to the fact that fictional media does greatly influence actual society. For example, the fact that a baby name jumps in use when a fictional character names their fictional baby it on a popular tv show (see 'Emma' and Friends), the fact that dalmatian adoption (and sadly abandonment) jumped dramatically when 101 dalmatians was popular, recruitment into the military at Top Gun, karate enrollment (and belt mills) during Karate Kids popularity, etc. Etc. Etc.

Going by the metaphor, it should also be pointed out that if you do shit your pants, there's a chance you'll be stuck wearing those shitty pants long-term if not forever.

This is one of those things that's shitty in multiple ways. They fuck over employees or all pizza places are now shitty chain restaurants because they're the only ones able to compete.
