I'm using Ctrl+V if I need to use "r", which of course is extremely inconvenient.

if you're on windows 10 you can use microsoft powertoys to do key remapping, which is probably better than this at least. My windows key broke like 4-5 months ago and I mapped caps-lock to it and now it's basically second nature (I might have a hard time unadjusting when I get a new keyboard...)

yeah I think you're kinda off-point here, "demon lord" in translations of anime or other japanese stuff is mostly likely to be maou () which is a pretty generic fantasy term for like, the evil big boss guy. it's sort of hard to explain so I'll just link this https://legendsoflocalization.com/tricky-translations-1-maou-daimaou/

but basically, demon lord is like the easiest possible canned translation for this and pretty much any time you see it you should assume this was the original word. sometimes it fits better than others, and that article gives a lot of examples of alternative translations that have been used for it over the years

personally I'm a big fan of nier translating it as Shadowlord

google search does curate information in a way that duckduckgo doesn't. like, the overall point of his statements here are some pretty dumb stuff but this part actually is true and is a reason I could see wanting to use duckduckgo beyond just the privacy part.

unfortunately, usually the curation makes the results better, not worse, so trying to avoid it tends to make your seraches less effective <_<

get to see things you wouldn't normally - animals, trees, plants, lakes, etc etc whatever

the air itself just feels nicer imo and you get a lot of fresh air obviously

really good for checking out the stars at night, you can see like 1000x more stars than in a city

honestly I used absolution last league and even that was salvageable (for my definition of salvageable, at least). I think as long as you've played a few characters you can kinda just path efficiently around the tree and pickup relevant stuff and you'll mostly be fine.

I want to try something with minion instability this league because I've thought that passive sounded super cool but super awkward basically since I started playing PoE and I want to experience it firsthand

I dunno if I really "had" to but I had (and have) a pretty good relationship with my direct family and I always would. I think it would be very strange to just walk out of the house and disappear for hours (especially overnight!) without saying anything to anyone. like, forget anyone making me do it, I would personally not feel comfortable doing it.

maybe not as far as everyone I was with and exactly what we were doing but just a general "I'm going out with <name of friend they actually recognize> for a while, I'll probably be back around <time>, do/don't bother making me dinner" sort of thing

"number" and "amount" have the exact same meaning in everyday usage. Again. Nothing about that title is ungrammatical. "The Resident Evil Ports Amount of Ridiculous..." would be ungrammatical.

you use "number" for countable nouns and "amount" for uncountable nouns. similar to fewer/less (another one people get wrong very often)

Modern RPGs are balanced where, if you play normally, the challenge level should roughly match your levels. Gamefreak doesn't do that, so you end up massively over-leveled unless you skip content. The primary problem is the disconnect between the intended audience and the mechanics really.

yeah this is the big issue with it I think

the exp sharing like that is a very good mechanic overall imo. the problem is just that there doesn't seem to really have been any recognition of how high level this makes you and enemy levels aren't properly adjusted to match

I like them both a lot but if I had to pick I'd say mario 64

banjo kazooie is a game with really good level design and layout, mario 64 is a game where basically any level design immediately becomes good because just moving around feels so good

the CC version are the CCs for the dub, but they also are the default you get if you choose to watch not dubbed with subtitles. which is a very dumb idea and I dunno why they set it up that wy when they also have perfectly good subtitles

there's more jp viewers in en streams than you'd realize from chat, they're basically always super quiet unless the streamer tries to talk japanese or talk to them or something. I also suspect they have an easier time using english and blending in that way than en viewers would have in jp streams

I tried watching some of it since I was curious what EN would think of the JP server and I couldn't survive very long, I can't disagree more with this lol

they want to explore in totally different ways (kronii wants to check out specific landmarks, mumei wants to just wander randomly and see what she finds) and they're constantly pulling the other one away from what they were doing so in the end they don't really manage to do either of these
