its hard to deliver suspense and surprise in slasher movies when every single slasher trope has been done numerous times over many, many movies. So Im willing to waive that criticism. but I respect your view of that.

The last movie that delivered on all counts imo was the original scream.

I mean - the scene at the park where he holds the skull kids head in the mask was pretty fucking great for that moment to create some fear

the amount of stupid and nonsense that allowed him to survive and then the reason he doesnt die is because hes either super natural or the message is that we cant solve violence with violence is absurd.
