So it really was just basically UFC but in Ancient Rome?

Lots of people were killed, but they were usually prisoners of war or criminals and weren't the main attraction. "Gladiators" were professional fighters and were extremely valuable, so even though many were slaves care was typically taken to avoid deaths.

The characterization of Boba feels super bizarre (it's like he's never been a criminal before) and in general the whole "present day" segment is pretty weak.

It's weird how Jabba was the most powerful criminal in the galaxy and Boba's approach to assuming his mantle is just wandering around Tatooine trying to make friends. It feels like the stakes should be a lot higher.

The bit of Boba with the Tusken is fun but that's not going to be the main thrust of the show.

I feel like you cant really be too blunt about climate change given that people are ignoring it regardless.

The entire COVID fiasco should demonstrate that most governments are only interested in pretending to deal with crises, and are not willing to resort to the drastic measures that would be required to exert real change.
