I wouldnt use class time teaching worthless "words" that most likely wont even be used in 5 to 10 years, especially when they have to cram so much for . But if it grabs their attention enough to teach useful stuff then I suppose its fine. How did you teach them anyway? Was their English level high enough they could understand after it was used in context and you explained the meaning or did you try to give some Korean equivalent?This wasn't a real lesson. It's the final week of the semester here and we just had to post an online assignment for them (we didn't hold any actual classes this week). I gave them two assignments. The first was to watch a video that explains each word, then they take a quiz on the definitions. The 2nd assignment, I made a fake text message conversation using all the vocab to show them how to use them in sentences, then they had to make their own fake text conversation using at least 5 of the words. As far as their curriculum goes, they don't learn anything in their English-speaking classes that will help them on the . Their English exams aren't focused at all on practical English.
